ank Battle: East Front 1941 Launches on the App Store

World War II strategy game Tank Battle: East Front 1941 with their new partner The Lordz Games Studio, the developer of the award-winning Panzer Corps series. Tank Battle: East Front 1941 has debuted on the App Store (universal iOS app) for $1.99.

Tank Battle: East Front 1941 unfolds on the Russian Front during the German invasion of 1941. Players fight on the side of the Soviets or the Germans in three campaigns: the seven-mission “First Strike” (Soviets), the eight-mission “Blitzkrieg” (Germans), and the eight-mission “Desperate Defense” (Soviets). Battles occur on winter and summer terrain and challenge players to make use first of obsolete equipment, such as the Panzer I and T-26, and then more advanced units as the war escalates. Missions involve wiping out enemy forces, capturing key points, and protecting vital supply convoys.

Players can choose from 30 different German units and 14 Soviet units. Basic units include flamethrower infantry, heavy machine guns, riflemen, mortars, and supply dumps and trucks. Tank Battle: East Front 1941 employs Hunted Cow’s detailed Combat Analysis system to assist new and veteran players alike and features Game Center achievements and leaderboards.

Tank Battle: East Front 1941 is a major upgrade of the game engine used for previous release Tank Battle: North Africa. Hunted Cow will release more missions in expansions Tank Battle: East Front 1942, 1943, 1944, and 1945 in the coming weeks. The East Front series will include 145 different combat units from the humble BT-7 to the German giant Maus tank.

*An update will deploy to support the game on iPhone 3GS after launch.

Fight as the Germans or the Soviets in a series of ever more complex missions. At the beginning of the year both sides have relatively obsolete equipment such as the Panzer I and T-26. As the war progresses more advanced tanks such as the excellent T-34 become available. Missions vary from straightforward wipe out the enemy missions, to capture key objectives, to protect vital supply convoys. There is a whole range of missions to reflect the tactical complexity on warfare on the Eastern Front.

The game system is based on, and a major upgrade of, the successful game engine developed for ‘Tank Battle: North Africa’.

More Tank Battle: East Front missions will follow with the release of Tank Battle: East Front 1942, 1943, 1944 and 1945 in the coming weeks.
