Independent videogame developer, Psyonix, Inc. announce that their flagship, self-published title, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars (SARPBC) will be receiving a limited time, 50% price cut across supported PAL territories. The sale will run from November 5, 2009 through November 19, 2009 and is available for download on the PlayStation Network on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system.
In addition to twenty five single-player mini-games, which also serve as a platform for users to learn the ins and outs of the game, SARPBC shipped with three Battle-Car arenas and two skins for each of the seven different battle-cars. For the last year, Psyonix has stood by their title and has nearly doubled the content by delivering constant gameplay-enhancing updates and free downloadable content in the form of three new arenas and 14 additional battle-car skins.
“October marked the one-year launch anniversary of Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars across NTSC territories, and in celebration of this event we decided to give back to the PlayStation community by temporarily reducing the price,” said Dave Hagewood, Director of Development for Psyonix. “Naturally we felt the need to extend the offer to the PlayStation communities across the pond as well by giving those who have been missing out on the Battle-Car fun some added incentive to join our growing Battle-Car community.”
About Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars
Battle-Cars features unique rocket-powered cars with incredible physics-based maneuverability, including the ability to rocket into the air or accelerate at supersonic speeds on the ground by racing over boost strips, obtaining boost capsules or by performing a rapid succession of acrobatic flips. In the team-based soccer game, players maneuver their vehicles to perform breathtaking saves, awe-inspiring shots and of course achieve supersonic speeds that literally turn your opponents into scrap metal.
Wide-ranging community involvement is supported through team and league play, as well as extensive and thorough statistical tracking, rankings and rewards for individuals and teams, including support for PlayStation 3 system trophies. The game features three single player modes as well as team and league matches and scrimmage matches online.
