New features added to MMORPG video game Silkroad online

Historic Fantasy MMORPG Besieged by Demonic Avatars, Citywide Battles, and Festive Holiday Cheer

Joymax, an independent developer of interactive entertainment for the global market, is introducing a slew of new features to its flagship massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Silkroad Online. Beginning today, December 18th, players of Silkroad Online will be able to experience two new in-game events, including a limited-time Christmas-themed quest, and a new system of massive-scale guild vs. guild combat. In addition, a selection of new avatar items will be available in the in-game Item Mall for a limited time, granting new abilities and fearsome new looks to Silkroad Online characters. All of these new features will become available at once through a free game update.

For three weeks, players inside Silkroad Online will be watching the skies for a festive flurry of snow that signals the start of the daily Christmas event. During this snowfall, exclusive new monsters will begin to roam the landscape, providing unique new rewards to players who can track them down and defeat them. In-game towns will also become decorated for the holiday, allowing players to take part in Christmas caroling and gathering in front of enormous Christmas trees. The event will continue to run once a day until January 8th, 2008.

The new battle system, included in the free "Legend II - Fortress Wars" update, will instigate guild vs. guild combat for up to 300 players each Friday. The massive battles will combine real-time strategy elements with fast-paced MMO combat, and allow the victors to take control of entire cities within the game. More information on Legend II - Fortress Wars can be read at the official website, at http://www.silkroadonline.net/teaser/fortress_update/index.asp.

Players who visit the Item Mall will find that their avatars can now be equipped with fearsome new "Devil Wings" items, available for a limited time. These crimson, bat-like appendages will grant their wearer both a terrifying new look, and various in-game bonuses, including increased HP, damage rates, and attributes.

Fortress Wars, Devil Wings, and the Christmas Event are available as of December 18th.
