Brütal Legend is an epic action game from visionary developer Tim Schafer. Jack Black stars as Eddie Riggs, a legendary roadie summoned to a heavy metal world where he must fight for the liberation of humanity from the demon Emperor Doviculus. In this wild world, mountains are made of amplifiers, killer spiders spin guitar strings and rock legends roam the landscape. In the demo, players get a preview of the game’s non-stop hack n’ slash action and mayhem. The demo opens as Eddie awakes in the age of metal where he must quickly learn how to use the powerful ancient axe, ‘The Separator’ and electrifying guitar ‘Clementine’ to unleash combo moves that destroy the demons of darkness. As he comes face-to-face with zipper-faced nuns and devilish druids, Eddie encounters the beautiful and tough-as-nails Ophelia, an ally and would-be love interest. Together, Eddie and Ophelia use double team attacks for more powerful combo moves to defeat the rock demons that are after them. Luckily, they are bestowed with a super-charged, druid-destroying vehicle, ‘The Deuce’ that can be upgraded with weapons and armor throughout the game. From the bowels of the druid dungeon to the tops of corpse mountains, the Brütal Legend demo is just the beginning of an epic journey.

Brütal Legend will launch on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system and the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. The game is set to create headbanger whiplash when it ships on October 13th in North America and October 16th in Europe.

Dante’s Inferno video game out February 12th 2010 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable

Visceral Games, award-winning creators of Dead Space and a studio of Electronic Arts, announced at EA’s GamesCom press conference in Cologne, Germany the release date for the highly anticipated action adventure game Dante’s Inferno.

The blockbuster adaptation of part one of Dante Alighieri’s epic poem “The Divine Comedy” will be available in North America beginning on February 9, 2010 and in Europe on February 12, 2010 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, the PlayStation 3 computer and entertainment system and the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP).

“The Divine Comedy is one of the most influential pieces of literature in the world and we have a great responsibility in re-imagining Dante Alighieri’s vivid descriptions of hell, and the themes of righteousness and redemption he explores,” said Jonathan Knight, executive producer of Dante’s Inferno. “Our team is dedicated to delivering a stunning and highly polished interpretation of this classic to a new medium for a new generation everywhere this February.”

In Dante’s Inferno, players will assume the role of Dante as he travels on an epic descent through Dante Alighieri’s nine circles of Hell – limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. Dante’s journey is driven by his desire to reclaim the soul of his beloved Beatrice after she is dragged through the gates of hell by Lucifer. This new story is the wrapper to a smooth, fast-paced action adventure game that delivers a deep, fully customizable combat system with holy and unholy choices, innovative level design, imaginative puzzles, and best-in-class boss battles, all running at 60 frames per second.

EA’s adaptation of Dante’s Inferno is also being made into a six-issue comic book series in a partnership with DC Comics / Wildstorm, the first of which will be released on December 9, 2009. An animated feature which is being co-produced by EA and Starz Media will be available the same day as the video game.

Nelly Furtado, Pixie Lott, and Stefanie Heinzmann Lay Down Beats in Simlish

The Sims fans around the world will be rockin’ out to new Simlish music in The Sims 3 World Adventures Expansion Pack* for the PC and Mac this later this year. The EA Play Label of Electronic Arts announce that in The Sims 3 World Adventures, players will have their chance to get down, Simlish-style, to artists like GRAMMY award-winner Nelly Furtado, rising star Pixie Lott, German sensation Stefanie Heinzmann, breaking new rock band Matt & Kim, global indie dance rockers Young Punx, and more!

“I was really excited when I heard EA wanted me to be involved with The Sims 3 World Adventures,” said Nelly Furtado. “I love languages, and it was so fun singing in Simlish.”

Sony Online announce that gamers can play Free Realms in five new, fully-localized and supported languages: French, German, Spanish (Castilian), Spanish (Latin American) and English (UK). Originally launched in English (US) on April 28, 2009, Free Realms is a free-to-play, family-friendly online video game that has more than four million registered players engaged in the whimsical virtual world.
