SMITE, Rogue Company & Paladins major 2021 content updates announced

Held entirely online this year, Hi-Rez Showcase is the publisher's headline event for the year, featuring the Hi-Rez Presents keynote reveal, unique panel sessions and community events. Among the major announcements are:

SMITE - 2020 was the best ever year for Hi-Rez Studios’ incredibly popular mythical MOBA. This year’s Season 8: Dawn of Babylon will be even better, with an all-new evolving Babylonian pantheon Conquest map (first in 3 years), new Gods (including Tiamat and Gilgamesh), new battle passes, new collaborations and plenty more esports action throughout the year.

Rogue Company - With a blockbuster 2020 launch (gaining over 15 million players) Hi-Rez Studios’ newest title will enjoy four seasons of cross-play shooter action this year; each featuring new Rogues (including Kestrel), new maps (such as Hollows), new events and much more.

Paladins - The 45+ million players of the fantasy team-based shooter sensation can look forward to even more content this year in Season 4: Calamity. 2021 will see more champions, more frequent updates, all-new limited time events, event passes, and more. The first Champion of the year will be the much-anticipated Yagorath - teased for years in Paladins lore this threat from beyond the Realm is bent on subsuming all life and existence.

Missile Dancer 2D frenetic action shooter pilot fighter jets to infiltrate the enemy base on Nintendo Switch

Created by TERARINGAMES, the Japanese developer behind the sci-fi action game Gemini Arms, Missile Dancer features frenetic 2D action where players pilot fighter jets to infiltrate the enemy base and stop them before the end.

On a different take on the shmup genre, the bullets of your fighter jet won’t damage the enemy. Instead, they’re your best option against the incoming attacks! To destroy your enemies, you will need to expand your radar and lock on them to shoot them down with a mighty missile strike!

You can increase the range of your lock-on radar and the number of missiles with bonus items after defeating enemies. Don't be hit!

Iron Conflict - battles await in this real-time military strategy game (RTS)

Iron Conflict is a real-time military strategy game (RTS) where players take command of unique unit formations in 10 vs. 10 multiplayer battles. Featuring a vast arsenal of iconic weapons and vehicles from multiple eras of war, including planes and tanks such as the F-35 fighter jet and the M1A1 Abrams, players will unleash offensive and defensive strategies against rival factions across photorealistic battlegrounds, including deserts, rural farmland, and hilltops.

In addition to vehicles, players command fearless infantry units that can provide anti-air support, unleash powerful artillery strikes, or take aim with devastating surface-to-surface missiles. They can also equip these units with special accessories and ammunition types that can improve their stats and make them even more viable in battle.

Designed with competitive play in mind, Iron Conflict offers players hundreds of units to mix and match. Pick three to create a formation and send them out into battle to conquer territory or ward off the enemies awaiting them at the frontline.

Nintendo DS classic Monster Tale comes to modern platforms in 2021

On the heels of the latest release of Double Dragon: Neon on Nintendo Switch, Majesco Entertainment is excited to announce that the long-loved Nintendo DS classic Monster Tale will be finding its way onto modern game platforms in 2021. Developed by Dreamrift, Monster Tale left its mark by bringing a nostalgic feel and a vibrant world featuring the human monster duo of Ellie and Chomp. 

Players in Monster Tale experience a seamless blend of classic gameplay styles of puzzle-platformers, Metroidvania, and pet management as they seek to rid the fantastic Monster World of the evil ragtag group the Kid-Kings. Working together Ellie and Chomp must learn new skills in order to return the world to the rightful hands of the monsters and help Ellie return home.

The Return: NBA 2K21 MyTEAM Season 4 Launches

2K today announced that NBA 2K is releasing Season 4 of MyTEAM for NBA 2K21 on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia and PC, continuing the debut season structure in the franchise’s history. The new season brings additional prizes, challenges and more.

This new season is titled, “The Return” and is themed around the return of the 2020-21 NBA season.

Kirby Delivers Some Tetris 99 Fun – The 19th MAXIMUS CUP event for the Tetris 99 game allows you to earn an in-game theme based on the Kirby Fighters 2 game. Now you can channel your inner fighting spirit into Tetris 99 on the Nintendo Switch system as you aim to hit your opponents with a flurry of Tetrimino-clearing combos in this action-packed MAXIMUS CUP. The Tetris 99 19th MAXIMUS CUP event runs from 11 p.m. PT on Jan. 7 to 10:59 p.m. PT on Jan. 11. To participate, Nintendo Switch Online members* just need to play the Tetris 99 online mode during the event period. Players will earn event points based on their placement in each match.
