SEGA Mega Drive Classics over 50 retro games on Nintendo Switch

Hot on the heels of the SEGA AGES titles announced last week and set to launch during the Tokyo Gaming Show, SEGA continues a winter of bringing great classics to the portable Switch. Retro fans can now finally play the Mega Drive collection on their way to school or work, in their lunch break or basically anywhere on the go!

SEGA Mega Drive Classics has over 50 retro favourites to experience across every genre: arcade action, shooters, beat’m ups, puzzlers and hidden gems, with a raft of modern features. Exclusively for the Nintendo Switch players can now compete in same-screen local coop mode and use each Joy-Con individually if desired. Familiar features like online multiplayer, achievements, mirror modes, rewind and save states are all part of the collection for everyone to revisit and enjoy.

Abertay University’s Dare Academy play out at EGX Birmingham

The finalists of Abertay University’s Dare Academy 2018 games design competition will face a panel of industry judges as the curtain comes down on the contest at this year’s EGX in Birmingham.

Returning for a second year after a highly-successful first outing, Dare Academy 2018 has produced an array of creative, fun and thought provoking games, ranging from party puzzlers to those exploring disability and PTSD.

Last year, Dare 2017 winners Bit Loom were rated among The Guardian’s top games of EGX for their unique “double-ended dog puzzler” PHOGS!, with the game going on to be commercially released by Coatsink.

There was similar success for their Dare classmates, Wee Door, whose game OIL was “Game of the Day” on the App Store after its release; while Pocket Sized Hands, who also competed in 2017, now operate a successful VR, AR and games development business in Dundee.

The world of Big Hero 6 is just one of the expansive worlds in the massive Kingdom Hearts universe. KURSK is the first ever documentary-adventure game. It focuses on the tragedy of the Russian atomic submarine K-141 Kursk, that sank in the Barents Sea in August 2000. The game's plot will be largely based on facts, making the player a witness to dramatic events that shook the world at the time.
