Six games for the PAX Aus 2018 Indie Showcase Spin Rhythm, Infliction, Double Shot, Dissembler, Major League TeleBlast & Mars Underground

The games exemplify the creativity found within the indie development community across Australia and New Zealand and will be prominently featured at the show. PAX Aus 2018 will take place 26-28 Oct. 2018 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Chosen from a huge assortment of submissions by a panel of industry veterans, the six games join the ranks of previous Showcase winners such as Hollow Knight, Hacknet and Objects in Space. The 2018 PAX Aus Indie Showcase will be featured on the exhibition floor as part of PAX Rising, an area dedicated to indie games. The Indie Showcase is a snapshot of the best of the local industry, oozing innovation, style, and technical mastery.

The start of a new era of all-out warfare between the Alliance and the Horde, as players around the globe set out on a vital mission to ensure that Azeroth’s future belongs to their faction. Defenders of the Alliance are called to the kingdom of Kul Tiras, ancestral home of Jaina Proudmoore, to enlist the aid of their legendary navy, while champions of the Horde must seek allies in the distant empire of Zandalar, home of the ancient Zandalari trolls. devcom presents Women In Games networking event for the first time

True to gamescom’s motto ‘diversity wins’, the organizers of the international developers conference devcom continue their work to champion diversity within the gaming industry. With Women in Games, devcom offers a forum to women who are already part of the gaming industry or who would like to gain a foothold within the industry for the first time.

The networking event takes place on Monday from 3:00 to 4:30 PM and offers guests from all fields the chance to get to know new people, to exchange information and to find out about new trends in the gaming industry. Furthermore, there will be a mentoring program with spontaneous sessions, where female industry veterans will answer questions about career planning, CVs and resumes. The event is open to everybody who is interested.

Shenmue I & II - Shenmue 101: Meet the characters driving the epic saga

On August 21st, one of the sagas that defined modern gaming is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and new players will be able to experience one of the most defining series in gaming history.

In the meantime you can brush up on your Shenmue knowledge as we teamed up with Corey Marshall, the English-version voice actor of Ryo Hazuki, for a series of videos exploring the world of the Shenmue. Last week, our first episode detailed the storyline of Shenmue I & II and Ryo’s quest to avenge his father.

Iron Harvest: This year’s most successful Kickstarter has a First Look demo

Iron Harvest, the classic RTS for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, set in the alternate reality of 1920+, which collected over $1,530,000 in its crowdfunding campaign earlier this year, now has a "First Look Alpha" demo for supporters.

The Alpha build features two game modes and 15 playable units:

A second Alpha demo, focussing on multiplayer, is scheduled for December, the release of the final game is planned near the end of 2019.
