Forum confirms Call of Duty World at War Map pack 3 and patch for PC

As with the previous two Map Packs, Map Pack 3 will indeed be coming to the PC – the team is hard at work on it and I'll let you know when it's in test.

As such, there will be a Patch 1.6 as well, which will address some additional game issues. When I have details on what else will be included in the patch I will be sure to post them.

PlayStation 3 patent filed for laughter detection and sadness, anger an bordom - are Sony mad?

Sony Computer Entertainment of America have filed a patent, for a system using coffee mugs to play a video game. Now they've filed one to make your laughter into a controller for the PlayStation 3 - Reports Kotaku.

Above is figure 17: "Ha Ha Ha." This is part of the metadata set going into the PlayStation 3, through a microphone and the PlayStation Eye camera. The patent application says it would identify body gestures, facial expressions and the like to deduce the emotion of the players. It's apparently got high-five recognition heuristics, too.

It's also attuned to sadness, anger, joy, interest and yes, boredom.

Nintendo to drop price of Nintendo Wii after sales dip?

Broadpoint AmTech analyst Ben Schachter has predicted a Nintendo Wii price drop after the Nintendo console's modest July sales figures.

According to statistics from NPD Group, the system recorded its lowest sales since its launch in November 2006, with Schachter predicting that the platform holder will respond by lowering its price.

"Although Wii Sports Resort sold well, it appears to have offered little lift to Wii hardware sales, increasing the probability in our view that Nintendo must lower the price soon (we expect a September cut)," he said.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has previously denied reports that his firm are considering a Wii price reduction, attributing the low sales to a weaker software line-up during the console's first quarter.

The Nintendo Wii, which still holds its launch price, sold 252,000 units in the US for July.

Final Fantasy XIII video game details - new character revealed by PlayStation Life

In the E3 Trailer for Final Fantasy XIII, a new character was revealed. The new character slightly resembles Sephiroth with his silver hair.

The character’s name has now been revealed, along with details about Odin…

It’s been revealed through a scan of the magazine V-Jump, that the silver haired character from E3 is named Yaag Rosch.

The magazine further reveals that the character plays the role of Lightning and her team’s enemy.

Also revealed, was Odin which can transform into a horse for Lightning to ride, much to the same effect as Shiva turns transforms into a motorcycle for Snow Villiers to ride into battle.
