Call of Duty World at War map pack 2 passes 2 million downloads in first weekend

Stalwart defenders of freedom and Call of Duty fans everywhere have answered the call with more than one million downloads of the Call of Duty : World at War Map Pack 2 from Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) and developer Treyarch, during its first weekend of availability (June 11-14) on Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network.

The map pack contains four maps (Bonsai, Corrosion, Sub Pens and Shi No Numa) and is available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft for 800 Microsoft Points and on the PlayStation Store for the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system for £7.99.

2K Sports Announces Free Demo download of The BIGS 2 on Xbox LIVE

With the MLB All-Star Game right around the corner, 2K Sports today announced a free demo of The BIGS 2 is now available for download through Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and a demo on PlayStation Network will follow shortly. The demo will support two players, local only, and offer fans the exciting opportunity to experience the new Batter’s Wheelhouse, thrilling power ups, and incredible player models in a three inning game as either the American League All-Stars or National League All-Stars.

Fans will also have the chance to smash home runs into building windows and neon signs in the return of the hugely popular mode, Home Run Pinball, in an all-new Las Vegas venue.

The BIGS 2, available on all major video game consoles, has been elevated to new heights this season with amazing visual effects and a variety of newly added modes including the fan requested Season and Become a Legend. IL2 Strurmovik - Birds of Prey video game website launched

505 Games has launched the official website for upcoming WWII flight shooter IL-2 Sturmovik - Birds Of Prey. Key development updates from the game will be announced first on the website, making the IL-2 homepage the first port of call for fans of the series awaiting news and updates in anticipation of the Q3 release date.

Available in six languages, the IL-2 homepage will act as both a news hub hosting all the latest assets and trailers, as well as a reference point for newcomers to get up to speed with the game. At launch, the latest trailer will be posted as well as details on eight of the ‘birds of prey’ featured in the game. Further details on some of the additional aircraft will be posted on the website before anywhere else, so fans are advised to check back regularly!

Based around large-scale aerial combat over the ground-based military operations of World War II, variety is at the heart of the action in IL-2. Players participate in the most famous confrontations of the era piloting fighters, battle planes or heavy bombers across a range of missions. There are 6 theatres of war in which to engage – The Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, Berlin, Sicily, the Battle of the Bulge and Korsun – representing the main airborne battles of World War II in Europe.

As well as taking environmental and landscape visuals to new heights by incorporating satellite technology, IL-2 also boasts a tangible damage effects engine. Players will see real-time damage to the aircraft such as holes in the wings and trail lines during dogfights. More specific details on the game will be released in the lead up to release.

New Hearts of Iron III in game footage released Japan and the Pacific War

Paradox Interactive has today released brand new in-game footage for Hearts of Iron III, the long awaited third installment of the best selling and critically acclaimed World War II Strategy series. About the movie:
