Deadly adversary or just another of The Joker's victims?

An Arkham Asylum psychiatrist assigned to treat The Joker, Dr. Harleen Quinzel instead became obsessively fixated on her patient, believing herself to be in love with him. She helped him escape confinement and took on her own criminal identity as Harley Quinn.

Quinn is a violent and unpredictable felon whose only motivation, beyond general mayhem, is achieving The Joker’s approval. Because of his cruel and mercurial nature, this in some ways makes her just another of his victims—albeit a very dangerous one.

Shimano Xtreme Fishing Nintendo Wii video game

Shimano Xtreme Fishing Shimano Xtreme Fishing challenges players to choose a weapon for a whole new take on fishing.

Embracing the wilder side of sport fishing, Shimano Xtreme Fishing is the only videogame to let players take the fight to the fish with bow and speargun in addition to the traditional rod and reel. Featuring cutting-edge fishing gear like Shimano Voltaeus fishing rods, Hoyt bows, AMS Bowfishing reels and accessories, and Muzzy arrow points, players hunt for a legendary catch from the deck of a free-roaming boat or underwater in full SCUBA gear.

But don't think that the hunt will be easy, because the more extreme the gear, the more extreme the fish... More than 40 varieties inhabit the massive environments, with huge predators like sharks and alligators guarding the hottest fishing spots. Shimano Xtreme Fishing takes players through exotic environments ranging from the cold, dark waters of a North American reservoir to a roaring Amazon waterfall, eerie submerged Mayan ruins, the hidden lagoons of a southern island, and the shark-infested shipwrecks of a tropical sea.

Shimano Xtreme Fishing
Once the weapons - bowfishing gear, fishing rod, or spear gun and SCUBA - have been chosen, players can compete to unlock new tackle, clothing, and sporting accessories in a series of challenging tournaments, each with beautiful scenery and unique time and weather conditions. Players looking for a more open-ended fishing trip can roam the vast environments in search of new hot spots while mastering their weapons of choice in Free Fish mode.

"We weren't interested in creating just another fishing game," said Bill Swartz, Head Woof of Mastiff. "We wanted to give players something new - the very best equipment, an incredible selection of fish and locations, and most importantly, the rush that comes from extreme fishing, whether with rod, bow or spear."

Shimano Xtreme Fishing will be available for Wii in summer 2009.

Manage Your Football Club (MYFC) video game on iPhone and iPod touch

Manage Your Football Club iphone gameDeveloper Sports Director is working on its first football management simulation for iPhone.

It's called Manage Your Football Club (MYFC for short), has been developed by handheld firm Sports Director.

The single-player game lets you take charge of any club in the top four UK divisions - Premier League down to League 2 - with accurate player and team names.

It's certainly comprehensive, cramming in tactics, training, transfers, finances and more statistics than you can shake a sheepskin coat at. You even get to build a youth team - an often-neglected element in management sims.

The thing that impressed us most from our hands-on with MYFC was the interface: Sports Director has clearly done a lot of work on the game's UI, from the slide-based training controls to the way you swipe between formations as if browsing photos on your iPhone.

There looks to be plenty of depth too - it's from the Football Manager school of management sims, with huge scope for tactical tweaking and squad-building, right down to individual player training to mould them just so.

The matches offer text-based commentary on what's happening, while a ball icon whizzes around a 2D pitch to show you roughly where the action is.

MYFC isn't quite the first football manager game for iPhone - that accolade goes to the just-released Soccer Manager.

We're keen to see how the two compare: in the absence (so far) of big guns like Football Manager and Championship Manager, there's a statto-shaped hole to be filled on iPhone.
