Hysteria Project - interactive horror video game on the iPhone

Hysteria Project
First episode in live action interactive horror series revealed.

Hysteria Project. The game is the first ever live action interactive series, which follows in the tradition of classic horror/survival movies such as Friday the 13th, The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield – only this time, you’re the one being hunted.

“Lots of games have attempted to blend film with gameplay before, but we never really felt as though it’d been fully achieved,” says Bulkypix CEO Vincent Dondaine. “With Hysteria Project, we wanted to create an experience that was as immersive and gripping as any good horror movie, but allowed people to make decisions that quite literally affected the character’s life. What’s great about the horror genre is the powerful emotional effect it has on the audience – it forces the viewer to take part in the onscreen events, and we’re simply taking that concept to the next level.”

Hysteria Project blurs the distinction between audience and player. Viewed from a first person perspective, users awaken in an old cabin, bound and confused. Escaping into the woods, they find themselves stalked by a mysterious and shadowy axe-wielding figure, and it takes a careful eye for detail and fast reactions to stay one step ahead of the mute killer.

The beautifully cinematic experience is interspersed with decisions the user must make to survive. Do they run for their lives, or try to find a hiding place in the terrifying woodland amidst the killer’s booby traps? But these decisions go beyond a choice between turning left or turning right – the hunted player must use the iPhone’s unique touchscreen capabilities to search the surroundings for weapons, to avoid traps and to defend themselves, all while attempting to solve the mystery of the strange symbol burned into their forearm that guides them through the chilling environment.

“In order to reach the largest possible audience and ensure we don’t exclude any gamers intrigued by the notion of a live action interactive series, we structured Hysteria Project carefully to make sure it packed in the scares, but leaves gore to the imagination,” continues Dondaine. “But this wasn’t at all restrictive, as the audience’s imagination is a horror story’s best weapon when properly manipulated. With an intricate and haunting audio accompaniment, we’ve been able to craft a wonderfully atmospheric experience that will provide all the tension and thrills of a great horror movie, with the action of an engaging adventure game that’s accessible to everyone.”

The pilot episode represents the introduction of the first ever interactive horror series. Future episodes will uncover the terrifying circumstances established in this groundbreaking inaugural episode, which will give both gamers and film fans a whole new entertainment medium packed with the superior horror action and storytelling today’s discerning, yet jaded, audiences demand.

A completely unique and powerful experience, Hysteria Project uses the multimedia and interactive strengths of the iPhone platform like no other game or movie. The pilot episode of Hysteria Project contains 30 – 40 minutes of playable footage for the low price of $1.99, and will be available from the App Store imminently.

The third European Track Pack, which includes the hit song “Break It Out” by Italian pop punk band Vanilla Sky and “In the Shadows” by one of Finland’s most successful bands, The Rasmus, will also contain “C'est Comme Ça” the top single from French pop rock duo Les Rita Mitsouko’s 1986 album The No Comprendo.

As a follow-up to the third European Track Pack, rockers from the Netherlands, Germany and Spain will also be contributing to Guitar Hero World Tour’s increasing catalog of downloadable content. On March 19th, the Dutch symphonic rock/metal band Within Temptation takes the virtual stage with “What Have You Done,” the first single off their fourth studio album The Heart of Everything. Joining them are German punk band Die Toten Hosen, who made their debut appearance in Guitar Hero® III: Legends of Rock, playing an encore as part of the full band experience with their 1988 hit “Hier Kommt Alex” and Spanish rock band M-Clan with their classic song “Carolina.”

Already appearing as an in game playable character; on March 19th, guitar savant and music legend Jimi Hendrix returns to Guitar Hero World Tour’s stage once again with an extraordinary three song Track Pack that will set fans fingers ablaze as they strive to keep up with his intense guitar riffs and insane solos. The second Jimi Hendrix Track Pack features “Freedom” and” Angel,” two hit singles off of his First Rays of the New Rising Sun album, and a one of a kind 1969 live from Woodstock recording of the timeless classic “Foxey Lady.” Additionally, the songs from the first Jimi Hendrix Track Pack – “If 6 was 9,” “Little Wing” and “Fire” – will also be available on March 19th as downloadable singles for Wii™.

Devil May Cry 2 PlayStation 2 glitches - with video

Devil May Cry 2 Glitches PS2
Dante still has his huge sword and his signature twin pistols, Ebony and Ivory, but since the first game, he has picked up quite a few nice tricks. He can now run on walls, kick while being in the air and shoot in different directions at the same time. You have also received a side kick, the beautiful Lucia, who is as skilled as Dante when it comes to combat, although she prefers knives to fire weapons.

The level of violence in the game is high and this, coupled with the quick paced action sequences, made it a best seller and the series continued to thrive with the biggest addition being Devil May Cry 4, launched in 2008.

Glitches

Big jump

There is a glitch in the stairwell where Dante obtains the Flame Heart. This is performed easier in Devil Trigger mode. It can also be done with the Rocket Launcher (not in Devil Trigger). At that staircase, there is a way to jump from the bottom near the door almost to the top door. Stand at the bottom of the ledge where the staircase drops off, and hold Toward the camera so Dante will flip when he jumps. Press Jump, and as soon as you release it, fire as fast as possible. If done correctly, he will finish his jump on higher stairs.
Invisible walls
During mission 22 when you are approaching Mundus while he is in statue, go to the right or left side of the room. You will find that there are invisible walls trapping you in. You can wall-jump off these invisible walls.

Blockbuster video game rental company 'close to collapse' as shares drop 86%

blockbuster logoThe entertainment and video games rental store group Blockbuster is close to collapse say national reports.

The world's largest film-rental chain is under pressure due to competition from mail-order services.

Bloomberg had reported earlier that Blockbuster, based in Dallas, was looking at the possibility of filing for bankruptcy. Another turnaround option would be to take the company private.

Blockbuster recently launched a TV set-top media player that downloads films for instant viewing. It also signed up to a partnership with Sonic Solutions, a video publishing company, to enlarge its library

Blockbuster has a $350 million revolving credit facility that is due to be repaid in August. The company is attempting to refinance that debt, plus a $28 million term loan.

Blockbuster has 700 stores in the UK.

Their shares have been suspended in the US.

Worms Armageddon Decade download on Xbox Live Arcade

Worms Armageddon Decade has been launched 10 years ago for the Nintendo 64 and the PC, providing a wide variety of weapons that the player could choose from to eliminate his enemies and become the last worm standing in a variety of levels filled with puzzles or destroyable objects.

Don't forget that this isn't the only Worms games available for download on the Xbox Live Arcade, as XBLA Worms has also been launched a long time ago, but didn't become as popular because the creators at Team 17 needed to leave out a lot of weapons due to the size limit of 50 megabytes that was imposed back then. Hopefully, we'll hear something concrete from either Microsoft or Team 17 soon.
