Design your own home with Grand designs 3D

Grand Designs brand which will enable amateur design enthusiasts to create and visualise their own Grand Designs projects. The Grand Designs 3D product range, including Self Build & Development, Kitchen and Bathroom and Renovation and Interior packages, will be launched at Grand Designs Live on 10 October 2008.

Grand Designs 3D is based on "ARCON", Eleco's leading 3D design software. With input from FME's UK licensing team and the talkbackTHAMES production team, Grand Designs 3D contains the quality and maintains the credentials of the two brands to create a unique product offering.
Grand Designs 3D will allow the user to quickly, easily and accurately design the exterior, interior and garden of their dream home. Initially, there will be three software packages in the product range catering for projects of a variety of sizes and budgets; from simple remodelling of existing properties to complete self-build projects. The product output can also be used by homeowners to apply for outline planning permission.
2D drawing tools will initially allow the user to bring to life ideas before visualising them in a 3D environment. A database of fixtures and fittings allows each project to be furnished and decorated with rendered images demonstrating the effects of texturing, lighting and even shadows. Finally, the 3D walk through feature allows each project to be examined in close-up detail and provides a genuine impression of moving around the finished home or room. Adaptations can be easily implemented; altering both small and large details at will until the users own Grand Design is completed
Dan Naylor, CEO of Eleco Visualisation Software, commented: "Eleco has a strong reputation as a provider of home design software across the UK and Europe; it is a perfect match to work alongside Grand Designs to attract a wider consumer audience to engage with the design process of their living space.
We feel our product is launching at an ideal time in a market where homeowners are increasingly looking to improve their existing property rather than move on. We hope that our software allows increasing numbers of consumers to visualise their ideas and perhaps even start their own Grand Design."
Dominic Burns, FME SVP Licensing UK, added: "We are delighted to be partnering with Eleco on this cutting edge software that will give users a keener understanding of the skills required to take on a Grand Design. The TV series actively encourages Grand Designers to work with the correct experts on their projects, be it architects or designers and this type of product will enable them to speak the same language."

This Dino Slug has been around Shawnimaland for some time, but the significant role he plays within Ninjatown wasn't known until recently.

Feroshi swears he has no special powers beyond breathing fire, but he'll play along since he likes the attention.

In Overlord Minions, the Overlord commands the Minion team remotely. The Nintendo DS stylus becomes an extension of his evil will and every precise touch screen command is the player-as-Overlord directing, commanding and combining minions in battle, pointing and sweeping them to attack enemies and solving puzzles to execute his dastardly plans.

Controlling the Special Farces team of four, players negotiate fiendish levels and take on a huge range of warped enemies to hunt down the Kindred, a cult dedicated to resurrecting the mighty Dragon Kin, a race of humanoid dragon hybrids, determined to replace the Overlord’s despotism with their own. Extending the Overlord series’ trademark humour, gameplay focuses on the mischievous physical comedy of the minion’s antics and is delivered in a gloriously realised cartoon visual style.

Meet the Elite: Direct four of the most mischievous, malevolent and manic minions hand-picked for this new adventure. Control each minion individually or team them up to solve puzzles and perform more powerful attacks.

- Stench is a smelly green minion who overpowers enemies with his fart dart amongst other obnoxious attacks.
- Zap is a blue minion and the mystic shaman of the unit. He channels magic through this body and can heal the other minions, should they be injured.

Overlord - Dark Legend Nintendo Wii video game Fact Sheet

Overlord - Dark Legend -Fact Sheet

Designed and developed exclusively for Nintendo Wii, Overlord Dark Legend is a brand new action adventure steeped in fairy tale lore with sinister, satirical twists. Set in a time before the original game (Overlord, 2007), players step into the role of a new younger Overlord and revel in command of the most vicious, yet lovable little critters in gaming – the Minions.

Forming a unique rampaging army, the Minions are a slavish and loyal horde of gremlin-esque critters predisposed to violence. No matter: they’re always ready and willing to follow even the most suicidal order, whether it's raiding villages for kicks and giggles or hurling themselves at enemies in the face of kamikaze odds in the beautifully rendered game world. With a story and characters that poke playful fun at fantasy cliché, our trainee tyrant will be able to take his growing pains out on the local fairy tale inhabitants as he protects his castle and lands.

Seize the Power: Donning the armour of the Overlord, players become commander-in-chief of a fighting, thieving and pillaging horde of crazed minions (with hundreds more waiting in reserve) – a force quite unlike any other. Send out your minions to crush rock giants, gnomes, halflings, elves, dwarves, peasants and more. Become a new Overlord, conquer realms and grow your castle from dilapidated ruins to glorious expression of your absolute power

Pillage and destroy with the Wii Remote: Controlling the minions is slick and devastating, requiring a flick of the Wii Remote to send the raucous rabble into battle. Whether you’re swishing the remote to sweep the horde into battle or pointing it to direct magic spells and fireballs at enemies, the Wii Remote becomes the perfect extension of the Overlord’s despotic will.

Throttle Your Minions: Individual Minions can be plucked from the horde, held by the neck and then, by vigorously shaking the Wii Remote, throttled! This stirs up the volatile lifeforce within them and they become a manic minion missile. With a now-explosive body, the insane little critter can be guided into enemies with hilarious, if rather fatal, consequences for both parties.

A twisted fairy tale: With a rich, tongue-in-cheek story written by award-winning games author Rhianna Pratchett, this exclusive Overlord adventure for Wii tells a new and twisted fairy tale. The lead character is in a Cinderella scenario with his elder and rather unpleasant brother and sister. He is the forgotten child while his father is away, and his wicked twin siblings are plotting to take over the kingdom with their own perverse alliances with elves and dwarves. The story game also introduces wicked witches, gingerbread men and Lil’ Red Riding Hood, the seeming sweet girl with a lupine side to her personality.

Meet the Minions: The Brown Minions are the fighters and the strongest minions in general combat. Red Minions are fire throwers and act like archers by hurling blazing fireballs as a long range attack. Green Minions are the Assassins and love to use stealth attacks. Blue Minions are the smartest of the minions and have healing powers and can resurrect their fallen minion comrades and bring them back into the fight.

Free NetHack video game - Role Playing Game RPG PC Mac Linux

NetHack is a single player dungeon exploration game that runs on a wide variety of computer systems, with a variety of graphical and text interfaces all using the same game engine.

Unlike many other Dungeons & Dragons-inspired games, the emphasis in NetHack is on discovering the detail of the dungeon and not simply killing everything in sight - in fact, killing everything in sight is a good way to die quickly.

Each game presents a different landscape - the random number generator provides an essentially unlimited number of variations of the dungeon and its denizens to be discovered by the player in one of a number of characters: you can pick your race, your role, and your gender.
