Metal Slug 7 and giant mecha fights

Whoa! Metal Slug 7 still has some surprises that I didn’t see when I played it.

This trailer shows two new slugs, the tethered Slug Tank and my favorite addition, the Slug Gigant.

The mammoth slug takes up 4/5ths of the screen and it looks like it was made in a junkyard.

At the tail end of the trailer you can see a few frames of the Slug Gigant fighting another junkyard mech with a missile launcher strapped on its back.

Check around the 1:55 mark to see it.

The Eye of Judgement on PlayStation 3

The Eye Of Judgment presents a new style of gameplay where collectable trading cards, embedded with a CyberCode, are brought to life in the 3D game through The Eye Of Judgment's innovative “9 Fields” battle mat and PlayStation Eye.

The Eye Of Judgment players compete by selecting a coded card and placing it in front of the PlayStation Eye for their respective creatures to come to life and battle on screen. In The Eye Of Judgment, players take turns placing cards as they jostle for control; the winner is the first player to conquer five of the nine squares of the “9 Fields” battle mat.

The gamer's task is to conquer the Eye Of Judgment board by deploying their cards more skillfully than their opponent.

Countdown to Battle of the Bands on Nintendo Wii

Battle of the Bands is the first time a musical “mashup” game has been delivered on Wii, allowing players to battle it out with their preferred musical style.

Battle of the Bands features both an exciting two player versus mode and an extensive single-player campaign where players take on the role of one of eleven bands trying to topple the nefarious big boss Mr. Hong and take control of the faraway city of New Cadenza.

Battle of the Bands introduces the innovative concept of "music switching", putting the player winning the battle in control of the style of music both players hear.

When an opponent turns the tide of battle, the music changes as well, switching between different music styles.

Battle of the Bands features 30 classic and modern chart-topping hits from over the last four decades, all of which have been recorded in five different styles - (rock, funk / hip-hop, country, Latin and marching band) - for the game, resulting in a total of 150 unique, playable recordings.

Hands-on with final version of Metal Gear Solid 4

We were whisked from the title screen – a real-time scene showing a suit-wearing Old Snake in the graveyard from previous trailers – to the Middle East, where after only a few minutes we realized that Kojima has done it again: he's taken MGS in a new direction, with wild ambition, yet still kept sneaking the No. 1 priority.

The Message of Majora's Mask on Nintendo 64

Clues spread throughout the final dungeon of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask hint that there's far more to the story of this Nintendo 64 game than what made it to the surface. An ancient rebellion against the Goddesses of the Triforce may be tied to the falling moon that spells doom for the world of Termina.

New realistic damage model for Sudden Strike 3 - Arms for Victory

Leading video game developer and publisher, Fireglow Games™, today announces a new realistic damage model for Sudden Strike3:Arms for Victory. We have also checked and corrected units' characteristics such as tower rotation speed, rate of fire, number of crew and ammunition. They are more correct from the historical point of view now.

The trailer showing a new realistic damage model for Sudden Strike 3 Arms for Victory is now available for download here:
http://static2.suddenstrike.com/SS3_Damage_Model.avi
http://static4.suddenstrike.com/SS3_Damage_Model.avi

With release of the addon, damage model in Sudden Strike 3 Arms for Victory will take into account the following factors:

Object durability (wood, stone, concrete):
Based on visual appearance of an object, (the material which it was built from), we can estimate overall toughness of the object. Concrete is the strongest material of the game. To destroy concrete bunker a howitzer of large caliber is required. After brick and stone buildings go, then wooden constructions. Wooden buildings can be destroyed by the microcaliber artillery and flame throwers.
Armor slope:
We have collected historical data about all armored forces. Not only armor thickness is taken into account, but also armor slope. When hit in the armored part of object at a high angle, the bigger power of shell is required to break it. Sometimes, shells with insufficient power simply ricochet, and do not damage the object at all.

Types of shells:
The following types of shells are implemented in the game: armor-piercing, subcalibre, high-explosive, cumulative and incendiary. All shells have historical characteristics depending on the weapon firing , and have a penetration ability corresponding to values taken from the penetration tables.
The armor penetration and damage of internal object's structures:
If an armor piercing or subcalibre shell breaks through armor, it has a chance to destroy internal structure of the object in the point of the hit. For example, if a shell hits a thread, tank will be immobilized. Hits to the tower inflict damage to the tank's crew. Another example are the flamethrowers. They virtually couldn't damage a tank, but hitting an SPG or tank with open gun turret, destroys it's crew with ease.
