Wonderland Online: Friends System

Although the internet world is exciting, sometimes players feel lonely immersed in the virtual world. With the unique “Friends System” in Wonderland Online, loneliness will be a thing of the past.

The system will help players who are not sociable to make friends, using commonalities like birthdays, blood types, etc.

When the “Spark” is on, look closely at the heat icon in the bottom right corner, because if the heart beats is fast that means there are some players nearby that just might want to become friends.

1.Open the Friends System to see your friends list.

2.Personalize info such as hobbies, birthdays, and blood types in the system. When there are players approaching that have things in common, the heart icon at the bottom right corner will flash.

3.The flashing icon is not only a signal, but also a symbol of friendship.

CrosuS Is HERE

Games company Isotx is downright proud – and a little emotional – to announce the release of CrosuS, the brand new Game Management System for the PC.

CrosuS is a new tool which finds the latest content and updates for all of your favourite PC games from the latest blockbusters to old-school classics – and delivers it straight to your desktop. CrosuS brings the best mods, maps, tools, news, reviews, videos, tournaments and competitions together and lets YOU control how you play and enjoy your PC games.

CrosuS works with a rapidly growing number of titles. It even supports the leading online game retail channels, including Steam and Xfire, to make sure it provides the widest possible support for the world's best games.

CrosuS started life as a 'mod jukebox', created by the development team at Isotx when they were working on their first game. Patrick Flanagan, the CrosuS project manager explains, “We realized that hunting for new mods, installing them and getting them to work was eating into the time we could spend actually playing – and decided there HAD to be a better way.”

CrosuS scans your hard drive to find installed games - then delivers a list of the latest online mods, maps and tools. You can install and play them direct from the CrosuS client in only a couple of clicks.

You can also find the latest news and reviews for your favourite games, leave your own opinions on the mods and updates, chat with other gamers using the integrated IRC client and use CrosuS to find other players and organise competitions and tournaments.

Even better – you decide which games CrosuS supports. Gamers can tell Isotx which games they want to see – or actually upload their own content. From old school arcade titles and

“CrosuS is much, much more than just a retail channel,” says Byron Rupp, the head of Isotx. “It brings together all of the latest information and updates and puts it right at the gamer's fingertips. It makes finding and playing new content as simple as possible, it puts the gamer right at the heart of everything on their PC.”

CrosuS also gives game developers and modders a new way to reach players. CrosuS allows developers to take their games direct to players and can even help the development process with secure groups for beta testers and limited access groups for paying customers.

“We want to make CrosuS an indispensable part of every PC user's life,” says Patrick. “No matter what type of games they play – from the most dedicated hardcore gamer through to casual players and people who use their PC for general entertainment and media - we plan to have something in there for everyone. CrosuS makes it simple to get the very most out of your PC and spend your time doing the fun stuff instead of the searching, installing and troubleshooting.”

Penumbra: Overture for Mac released

Finally we at Frictional Games can proudly present the finished version of Penumbra: Overture, previously released on Windows and Linux, for Mac OS X.

Penumbra: Overture is a first person adventure game, rendered in real-time with advanced physics, featuring an intriguing story with a dark and disturbing atmosphere. Penumbra: Overture has been considered to be one of the scariest games of 2007 and is now available as a universal binary for Mac OS X.

Our initial plan to release for all platforms within a short time period unfortunately didn't follow through as we encountered many difficulties with getting things to work properly on the Mac. But from a more positive point of view, most ground work has now been laid out, and for our future games we can commit to a continued support for all platforms.

Super Smash Bros - Pikmin & Olimar: Special Moves

Captain Olimar is among the most specialised characters within the cast of Smash Bros. Brawl.

In order to really unleash Olimar’s full potential, you’ve got to have a good knowledge of his helpful cohorts, the Pikmin!

First, uproot a few Pikmin from the ground. You can have up to six Pikmin at one time. As long as there is ground beneath your feet, you can reach down and pull up a Pikmin, but be aware that certain Pikmin are more likely to appear in specific types of flooring.

There are 5 types of Pikmin to use!

- Red Pikmin -
High attack power
Attacks imbued with incendiary properties
Immune to fire

- Yellow Pikmin -
Range of attack slightly larger than usual;
easy to hit enemies with
Travel in slight arcs when thrown
Attacks imbued with electrical properties

- Blue Pikmin -
Strong when thrown
Slightly more durable than average

- Purple Pikmin -
Doesn’t fly far when thrown
Slow
High attack power
Slams into enemies instead of
latching on when thrown

- White Pikmin -
Quick and light
When latched onto opponent,
poison does additional damage

You can work out which Pikmin you will attack with next by looking at the order they are lined up in.

You’ll use a Red Pikmin in your next attack.

In order to perform a Smash Attack, certain mid-air attacks, and even throws, you’re going to need Pikmin!

Anyhow, just do your best to not kill off your platoon. Olimar doesn’t stand much of a chance by himself.

Arctic Stud Poker Run - high speeds, and high explosives

Action-packed "full-contact poker" game with high stakes, high speeds, and high explosives goes all in this March

Got Game Entertainment LLC today announced a North American publishing deal for “Arctic Stud Poker Run”, an arcade-style combat racing game for the PC with a revolutionary multi-player battle experience. Developed by Game Refuge, the veteran arcade team behind “Rampage World Tour” and “General Chaos”, “Arctic Stud Poker Run” is a decidedly irreverent, over-the-top reinvention of real-life cross-country "poker runs" in which players race from place to place picking up playing cards in an effort to assemble a winning hand. The action-packed “full contact poker” game includes everything from heat-seeking missiles and dynamite-filled snowmen to spell-casting goblins and bullet-proof long-johns. “Arctic Stud Poker Run” is scheduled for release March 2008 and will retail for $19.99 (USD). The game is not yet rated by the ESRB.

“Some have described ‘Arctic Stud Poker Run’ as ‘Twisted Metal’-meets-Texas Hold ‘Em, while others find it a thinking-man's free-for-all with gambling principals to add strategy, depth, and nuance to an otherwise mindless genre,” said Game Refuge CEO Brian Colin. “We just call it flat-out fun.”

“Arctic Stud Poker Run” allows players to employ trickery, intimidation, bravado, deceit, speed, stealth, and brute force to bankrupt their opponents and win. In this “friendly” game of cards, players can use high-powered vehicles to rush out and grab any card they see, engage machine guns, dynamite, and heat-seeking-missiles to steal opponent's cards, and put a "bounty" on the head of troublesome adversaries. “Arctic Stud Poker Run” features include:
  • Single player, multiplayer, and tournament elimination modes
  • 37 unique, playable characters
  • 126 levels spanning 81 square miles in 9 environments
  • Players with varying skill sets compete effectively
  • Cash-based tournament scoring
  • Player-to-player bounty system allows alliance formation
  • “Big Hand Possible” feature advises the best available hands before the round begins
  • “Auto Card Swap” feature alleviates the need for advance poker knowledge

“No gentle taps on green felt and quiet tinkling of cocktail glasses in this poker game,” said Got Game Entertainment President Howard Horowitz. “’Arctic Stud Poker Run’ doesn’t just up the game ante, it chases it down and explodes it.”
