Get your paws on Sims 2 Pets now on N-Gage

Your pet no longer needs to stay at home with The Sims 2 Pets by Electronic Arts now available on N-Gage-compatible Nokia devices. Start by creating a Sim and then choosing a puppy for them to love as their own.

The puppy can be customized by breed, fur colour and name. Your Sim can then take their furry friend to the park, buy it toys and stylish accessories, and teach it tricks. Make sure your Sim takes good care of the puppy, because a neglected companion might destroy the houseplants or even worse!
Earn rewards by completing goals such as buying new toys and accessories. Use N-Gage Arena to upload and store game stats and calculate player rankings.

EA Sport predicts Portugal will win Euro 2008

And the UEFA EURO 2008 trophy goes to… Portugal! EA SPORTS today declared the winner of UEFA EURO 2008. Using the simulation engine in the UEFA EURO 2008 videogame, EA SPORTS was able to test all 16 teams in the competition and determine that Portugal would come out on top. UEFA EURO 2008, the officially licensed videogame of the tournament, also predicted the following placements:

• UEFA EURO 2008 Champion: Portugal
• UEFA EURO 2008 Final: Portugal 2 Italy 1
• Golden Boot winner: Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal (5 goals)

Players around the globe will compare these astonishing statistics to the real world results as they unfold. The Final itself was an epic battle where Italy’s resilient defense was pitted against Portugese flair, with Portugal ultimately winning 2-1 to capture its first European championship. Goals from Deco (28th) and Ronaldo (63rd), his fifth goal of the tournament, staked Portugal to a 2-0 lead early in the second half before midfielder Andrea Pirlo scored in the 75th minute to bring the Italians to within one. Portugal survived a frantic final 15 minutes to capture the Henri Delaunay Trophy.

In the EA SPORTS simulation, old rivalries were reignited. France was beaten 2-0 by Italy in one semifinal, in a replay of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final won by the Italians 5-3 in penalty kicks. In the EA SPORTS simulation the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in a group stage match.

Portugal knocked off Germany 2-0 in the other semifinal.
Host countries Austria and Switzerland both failed to advance from the group round. Switzerland was the first country eliminated from the competition. Luck also ran out for Croatia in the group stage. After knocking off England in qualifying, Croatia had injury problems, losing star forward Eduardo among others, and failed to advance from Group B.

EA SPORTS UEFA EURO 2008 results:

Guitar Hero III mobile game heads for one million downloads

Guitar Hero III Mobile was the number one selling mobile game on Verizon Wireless phones in the first quarter of 2008. Initially released exclusively by Verizon Wireless, Guitar Hero III Mobile is striking a chord with fans all over the world, shattering mobile game records with nearly 1 million downloads, including monthly subscriptions, across all wireless service providers.

Ryan Hughes, vice president of digital media programming for Verizon, said, "Verizon Wireless customers have shown a tremendous appetite for mobile games - the category is an important part of our strategy to increase data revenue, and marquee titles such as Guitar Hero III help create demand and engage our customers in mobile gameplay."

Guitar Hero III Mobile has become one of the fastest selling games in mobile gaming history. More than 250,000 songs are played every day by mobile subscribers across the U.S. The most played songs include "Slow Ride" (re-record), "Mississippi Queen" (re-record) and "Black Magic Woman" (re-record).

"Fans of the Guitar Hero console games have been very impressed with the title's translation onto BREW handsets," said David White, chief executive officer of Hands-On Mobile. "Guitar Hero III Mobile has opened the eyes of a whole new group of consumers to the world of mobile games."

Mobile research firm M:Metrics said that consumer demand for mobile games in the U.S. has yet to reach its peak, but as it has seen from the demand for Guitar Hero III Mobile since its launch, this title is clearly a game changer. "Guitar Hero is a recognizable franchise that has already won over consumers with the console version, setting it up for great success on the mobile platform," said Seamus McAteer, senior analyst, M:Metrics. The firm reports that the number of people downloading a mobile game continues to grow, with 20 million playing a downloaded game in March.

In addition, Hands-On Mobile announced the Guitar Hero III Mobile June Song Pack, a feature that offers subscribers the opportunity to download three new songs every month. Songs available to wireless users on June 1 include "Stricken" (original recording), "Talk Dirty to Me" (re-record) and "Rock and Roll All Nite" (re-record). Through the Song Pack downloads, players will be able to access more than 50 songs and 150 unique note charts across all three difficulties (easy, medium and expert) within one year of the game's release.

Featuring four authentic guitars and three venues, Guitar Hero III Mobile challenges players to hit number keys in synch with colored notes that appear on a scrolling fret board. The game offers 15 instantly accessible tracks taken from the console series.

For more information, please visit www.GuitarHeroMobile.com. Guitar Hero III Mobile may be downloaded by text messaging the keyword GH to 46966. Verizon Wireless customers can check out Guitar Hero III Mobile in the Top Selling Games aisle on Get It Now-capable phones for $4.49 monthly access or $11.99 for unlimited use purchase. Airtime or megabyte charges may apply when browsing, downloading and using the application.

Visitors to the N-Gage website can download software that connects their phone to the handset maker's growing library of games.

Nokia expects to have about 30 games available for playing on its higher end phones by the middle of 2008.
The launch of N-Gage marks one of the biggest moves by a mobile maker into the content market.

The official unveiling of N-Gage is due to take place on 7 April. However, Nokia announced on its N-Gage blog that fans of mobile gaming could get access a few days early.

By visiting the N-Gage site gamers can download the software package that sets up the service on their handset.
The April launch comes after two delays which pushed back its debut from 2007.

Nokia's original plans for N-Gage revolved around a gaming gadget that debuted in late 2003.
