SONY drop price of PlayStation 3

Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) today announced that the PlayStation 3 (PS3) computer entertainment system with 160GB hard disk drive (HDD), currently available at a recommended retail price (RRP) of £249 will be available at a very attractive new RRP of £199 in the UK. SCE will also reduce the price of the PS3 system with 320GB HDD, currently available at a RRP of £299 to RRP of £249 in the UK. The new pricing will be immediately effective for North America and Europe/PAL territories, and starting August 18, 2011 for Japan.

Sony Games Warehouse In London Destroyed By Fire

The Japanese electronics giant's 20,000 square metre, three-storey warehouse was ablaze into the early hours of the morning, with a Sony spokeswoman telling reporters 'there will likely be some impact on deliveries'.

Sony: we don't know when we can restart PSN

The weeks pass by and thinks seem to go from bad to worse for Sony and their network for PS£ and PC gaming. After the hack attack a few weeks back the Japanese electronics giant has struggled to re assure users their details have not been stolen. Now it would appear details of PSN users who entered a sweep stake contest have been posted on the Internet.

Sony said PSN online gaming services will return later in the week with full service resumed by mid-May - with video apology

Sony boss Kaz Hirai has held a press conference in Japan during which he revealed specifics on how their PlayStation Network attack took place. He went on to talk about the steps Sony is taking to fix the issue. He also offered a sincere apology.
"We would like to extend our apologies [to PlayStation Network and Qriocity users] ... because we potentially compromised their customer data," Hirai stated. "We offer our sincerest apologies."

Sony warn PSN users their personal details may have been stolen in hack attack...

After days of NO PlayStation Network for gamers, Sony have admitted that user information may have been stolen by hackers who attacked the network last week. If this proves to be the case millions of gamers credit card details, addresses, passwords and other information may now be in the hands of thieves.

PlayStation Network and Qriocity services remain down days after Sony reacted to the hacking of their network. Sony cannot assure customers that their credit card and other user information was not stolen in the attack.

PSN down after hack - could be back on Tuesday?

Since last Wednesday, when Sony suffered a PlayStation Network hack the entire World Wide PSN has been down. Sony are trying to restore from backups but further attacks have caused the company to spend time trying to avoid a repeat.

PSP 2 to be delayed until 2012 - no way say Sony

Despite the revelations earlier in the week by Jack Tretton, US head of Sony Computer Entertainment, that their NGP (Next Generation Portable) the PSP 2 had suffered delays due to the Japanese earthquake Sony Japan now deny the claim.

Sony's GT5 (Gran Turismo 5) UK TV ad banned until 'gameplay footage' is changed - PS3 (you can watch it here!)

The UK Advertsing Standards Authority has upheld complaints against Sony's GT5 (Gran Turismo 5) TV advert including 'Actual gameplay footage'. The footage was mainly taken from replay mode, using 'premium' high resolution cars only, not the standard cars in the majority of the game.

5th Resident Evil movie coming in 3D

The new Resident Evil movie doesn't have a name, but it will be in 3D, Sony Pictures announced that it is scheduled to be released in September 2012 the same as the second, third, and fourth films.

PlayStation imports banned in Europe after court ruling on Blu-Ray players

Customs officers have been told to seize any PS3 (PlayStation 3) imports into Europe under a court ruling found in favor of LG.
