Hideo Kojima's latest titles 'Metal Gear: Rising' and 'Mask' teaser sites revealed!

With the recent announcement of Konami's latest title 'Metal Gear Solid: Rising', the teaser site for the introduction of Hideo Kojima's other fresh new title 'Mask' is something to keep an eye on, currently containing only an animated graphic of a fragmented mask and an audio clip. However, if there's one thing we can expect from the man behind series such as Metal Gear and Boktai, it's definitely high quality video games.

Also, for fans of the Metal Gear Solid series, and any XBox 360 based gamers who missed out on the epic title MGS4, it looks like Rising is going to be worth investing in. With Raiden featuring as the main protagonist, and containing a timeline set after 4, the game is set to continue the events from previous games as well as elaborating on the already mysterious character of Raiden himself.

More will likely be revealed during press conferences tomorrow, so stay tuned for more information on these new big titles! Use 'gamezplay' in your games searches for the latest info - it works!

Konami has announced that the latest downloadable content for its Metal Gear Online title for PLAYSTATION 3 will be released on November 25th. Entitled MEME EXPANSION, the download adds new characters and gameplay elements to Hideo Kojima’s hugely popular online epic.

The MEME EXPANSION unveils two new special characters, which are playable for the first time. Liquid Ocelot enters the fray with the ability to manipulate the Sons of the Patriots’ lock system using his Guns of the Patriots skills, and can also deactivate the weaponry of a targeted for within Metal Gear Online’s multi-player modes. Similarly, Mei Ling comes into play with three unique attributes, including the Trench Mortar weapon, Soliton Sonar capabilities, and the means to transfix enemies.

Three new maps have also been created, with the rough, uneven industrial elements of Silo Sunset, the dense foliage of Forest Firefight and a snow-blown deserted factory called Winter Warehouse available for the first time. The download also implements a number of new rules, which are also now available without the MEME EXPANSION update. A new ‘No Headshot’ setting allows players to attribute the same level of damage when shot in the head to that of a regular body shot. ‘Stealth Death Match’ allows users to compete with the stealth elements switched on automatically; while the ‘Interval’ setting allows used to practice and chat with each other within the battlefield, without their ranking or records being adversely affected.

An official Tournament lobby has also been created to pit players in battle situations where points are up for grabs and can be spent on the customisation of a character or on new gear. Likewise, a series of familiar humorous elements can also be used within the customise field, including the Crocodile Cap made famous in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the Ghillie Suite camo from the same game, and an afro hair style.

Metal Gear Online fans will be able to pre-purchase the MEME EXPANSION elements for 7,99 Euro from November 18th, with a bundle containing both the new elements and the previous GENE EXPANSION update also available at the same date for 12,99 Euro. Castlevania - Order of Ecclesia video game

castlevania order of ecclesia
"Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia" mixes up the series formula a bit and is an improvement over the last game, "Portrait of Ruin." Players control Shanoa, a woman with the ability to absorb and manifest glyphs as weapons and spells. She can use up to three at a time, and in combination they produce powerful special attacks.
The game is structured differently from most recent "Castlevania" titles. Instead of a single large castle to explore, Shanoa can visit different locations at will by selecting available places on a map of the game's world. Each area is self-contained.
The graphics are in gorgeous 2-D, with exceptional animation and effects. Players may also notice that "Ecclesia" is tougher than the series has been in years — a welcome return to form in a series known for its challenge.

Eledees power on to DS

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced the return of its popular Eledees characters, as the cute energy creatures head to DS in an all-new title Eledees: The Adventures of Kai and Zero heading to Europe this Winter.

Eledees was an original title designed for the Wii and starred the titular creatures who have the ability to supply electricity when gathered together. As such, players were charged with locating and collecting the tiny Eledees creatures needed to power their home, and this basic concept has been retained for Eledees: The Adventures of Kai and Zero, but within a touch-screen adventure created specifically for the Nintendo handheld.

Eledees: The Adventures of Kai and Zero acts as a direct sequel to the Wii game, and adds a mystical slant to the story. The two titular heroes find themselves transported into a mysterious realm by a magical bus created by Kai’s inventor Father. As they get used to their surroundings, the pair must use all their skills to gather the Eledees they will need to assist their progression, with Kai making good use of his special capture gun, which is used to grab the evasive Eledees, and lift, manipulate and move any objects in his path.

In addition to locating the various Eledees to power devices, players are also challenged with locating a new species of ‘Omega’ Eledees, who boast a wider range of abilities and act as side-kicks who accompany Kai through the vast stages. As the game progresses, ‘Omega’ Eledees capable of locating hidden areas, freezing water, and illuminating dark areas must be found and put to good use to progress to later stages.

The DS game also extends the multi-player elements of the Wii title, with the Nintendo DS Wi-Fi service allowing players to compete head-to-head, or in four-player battles to round up the errant power sources.

Konami Reveals More On Metal Gear Online Beta News

Further details for the beta include an in-depth character creation component and the Sons of the Patriots system...

Konami has revealed some more nuggets of information about the Metal Gear Online beta that will be launched on April 17th in Europe alongside the incoming PlayStation Store update. It is set to run from April 21st through until May 6th.

The new info comes from PlayStation.Blog, where Konami's Brandon Laurino detailed the character creation and Sons of the Patriot systems.

Laurino compared the character customisation depth to that of an MMO, boasting a wide variety of skills to master (of which you can select four to specialise in). These include demolition, sniper mastery, close quarter combat, alertness, heavy weapon mastery, quickness, and knife fighting.

The Sons of the Patriots (SOP) system, on the other hand, provides gamers with real-time data on what all their squad mates are doing. This includes their status, where they are, and who they are fighting. Additionally, by scanning the opposing team's link you can intercept their SOP data and share it with your squad.

This is all achieved with the use of nanomachines that have been injected into soldiers so that they can be controlled on the battlefield by private military companies. It'll be another future imperfect in MGS4 then.

Other new information included a list of the weapons and items that will be available in the beta...

Items

- S.PLUG.S
In the map:

As has previously been revealed, the beta will offer four game modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture Mission, and Base Mission. Capture Missions exhibit the standard capture the flag setup, whereas Base missions utilise a traditional base capturing format.

There will also be two maps for the beta. Blood Bath has both over and underground areas, while Groznyj Grad is a weapons factory that housed MGS3's Shagohod.

Last, but by no means least, is the catapult, which will propel players across the map and right into the action. Set to offer something similar to the Man Cannons of Halo 3, MGO's catapult will doubtless offer some rollicking good gameplay for beta players to enjoy.
