The developers of Alekhine’s Gun announced today the Cold War stealth game originally slated to hit shelves next week will now see a February 9th launch.
The Bay Area video game publishers cite their desire for a comprehensive, synchronised global launch as the reason for the delay.
Alekhine’s Gun takes place during the Cold War – from the end of WWII through the 1960s – and puts players in the shoes of ex-KGB assassin, Agent Alekhine, as he teams up with the CIA to unravel a deadly conspiracy. Featuring classic stealth maneuvers, choice-based gameplay, wide-open levels, and a range of weapons and disguises, Alekhine's Gun adds an intriguing layer to the stealth genre by placing characters in a historical framework.
Maximum Games will release Alekhine’s Gun on PlayStation®4, Microsoft Xbox One, and PC in North and South America on February 9, 2016. Partnered with Kiss Ltd., a UK-based digital distribution company, the game will be available globally on STEAM™ the same day. European distribution of the console versions is also set for February 9th, and the partner for that release will be announced at a later date.
