WTCC champions wanted - enter eSports contest


The search is on to find the FIA World Touring Car Championship’s first batch of online champions following confirmation of the WTCC’s inaugural esports competition, eSports WTCC.


Organised in partnership with RaceRoom, eSports WTCC features a qualifying phase consisting of 10 online rounds and four optional events at WTCC race weekends ahead of a grand finale at a venue to be announced in December, when more than 200 racers will do battle for online gaming supremacy.

More than 15 Twitch streamers, including Ltzonda, Stodeh and AOAAGold, will come together to raise vital money for people affected by cancer.


Taking place at Twitch HQ in London, the event is designed around the theme ‘taking it for the team’. Starting at 12pm on 20th May and finishing at 12pm the following day, the streamers will be divided into teams and will compete against each other in games, challenges and forfeits. Points will be awarded for wins, bravery and donations. Anyone can tune in to Macmillan’s Twitch channel (www.twitch.tv/macmillancancer) to watch the event.
