Funji Launches the First Avatar-Based Social Networking Application for the iPhone

Funji, Inc., an iPhone application company, launches the first avatar-based social networking application only for iPhone and iPod touch on May 23. While some avatar applications allow users to customize characters, Funji is the first to blend avatars and social networking only for iPhone/iPod touch users. Funji users can decorate their own avatars and rooms to show friends, save as wallpaper or publish to Facebook using FB connect. They can visit strangers' rooms to see what they have created and initiate friendships.

Funji’s comic-book style stands out from the geometric 3D virtual worlds prevalent on the web and many other iPhone applications. With Funji, users have more than 2000 possible combinations for creating their unique avatar. The customizable avatars show random dance moves when touched. Each update will feature new avatar animations for intimate and personal interaction. The background and decorative items also help to create imaginary scenes, such as a huge cupcake on the bed or pink dog on the road.

Funji will regularly update items based on a theme such as disco hall or summer vacation. While Funji is focused initially on giving users a new level of self-expression, the company is planning to expand its application to allow users to communicate with and play games with friends. Games will allow users to earn points to express themselves with unique items.

An intensive development effort was required to create animated avatars in traditional comic book style without using 3D tools. Funji is the only iPhone application that allows users to customize and animate avatars.

“Users have been thirsty for an avatar application for the iPhone that integrates with other social networks,” said Shinyoung Park, CEO of Funji, Inc. “At Funji, our goal is to satisfy users’ quest for self-expression and playful interaction with friends within the mobile environment. Funji’s offerings will move users beyond the web, leveraging the mobile platform to create a far more intimate and personal means of communication.”

The price of the Funji is $2.99. However, for a limited time, Funji is available for $0.99.

The single also features the newly re-vocaled "You Raise Me Up,’ the track that closes ‘Over the Rainbow’. Sales of the album are stronger than ever as music fans continue to discover the young singer who has already charmed not only Mr. Cowell and his fellow judges, but the likes of US chat show Queens, Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.

dual_sf_evolutionThe Latest in Innovative Line of PlayStation 3 Peripherals Will Set Players Free

SplitFish give the game industry its first hands-on look at the Dual SFX Evolution and Dual SFX Frag Pro, the latest additions to its line of innovative controllers for PlayStation 3, at E3 2009.

The new controllers are part of SplitFish's brand-new Frevolution X System to be available this fall.

The Dual SFX Evolution and Dual SFX Frag Pro will be shown to media and wholesalers by appointment only. To schedule time to see these amazing peripherals, e-mail Michael Meyers at Michael@mmpr.com.

"We want to change the way people think about playing on game consoles. This FREVOLUTION X split-controller series was born from our customer and pro gamer wish list of control surfaces and designed around the natural macro/micro mechanics employed by your mind when playing action games. The result is an evolved, feature packed, customizable dual-controller setup that brings out the best in individual gaming styles," said Jason Johnson, co-founder and head of creative development for SplitFish AG.

The Dual SFX Frag Pro improves upon the tremendously popular FragFX, adding a dual wireless system to the intuitive controller. A right-hand motion/analog joystick controller joins an updated version of the Fragchuck made famous by the original FragFX. Together, the two provide the simultaneous macro and micro gaming control necessary for action games.

Both the Dual SFX Frag Pro and the Dual SFX Evolution include dynamic sensitivity adjustments, analog stick swap ability, full support for all PS3 games, as well as PlayStation 2 games played on PS3, and upgradeable firmware.

Fireteam Mode launches in Combat Arms on Wednesday Watch the video here...

Fireteam Mode Combat ArmsNexon America unveiled details on the new cooperative game mode, Fireteam, set to launch on Wednesday, May 27 for its popular multiplayer online first-person shooter, Combat Arms. The new, eight-player cooperative mode teams players up with one another to defeat the Sand Hog, an enemy terrorist army.

Fireteam offers four-, six- or eight-player game options to pit players against hordes of computer-controlled enemies while experiencing an intense, multi-staged military mission. With three different difficulty settings (Normal, Hard and Extreme), players can earn extra life, or respawns, by reaching defined checkpoints. Fallen enemies drop ammo boxes and medical kits so players can replenish ammo and health in the field. Fireteam mode features a specially-designed map, tuned specifically for Fireteam Mode. And since each game is individually scored based on performance, players can try to earn the highest score.

The Sand Hog is a terrorist military organization suspected of illegally supplying weapons to nearby countries. An infiltration team sent in earlier had signaled it had obtained some vital Intel but failed to make it to the extraction point and are now believed to be captured or killed. The mission, Operation Desert Thunder, asks players to infiltrate the area and gather the necessary Intel, and if possible, find and rescue the infiltration team.
