PRINCESS ON ICE - NOW ONLINE
With a twist, followed by a triple open axel and a wink to the judges, 505 Games today skated over to announce the launch of the official Princess On Ice web site. Due for release on 25th April, Princess On Ice recaptures all the magic and spectacle of figure skating on the portable Nintendo DS format.
The all-new supporting web site details everything a budding Suzanne Shaw needs to know about this Spring’s most coveted DS title. Performing as Kelly, Gabrielle, Alyssa and Madison, players must dance their way from the humble local rink to the world’s greatest arenas, all the way mastering the most spectacular tricks and spins to impress the ever-watchful judges.
Friendship amongst your fellow performers is also key to making your way to the top, and the Princess On Ice web site profiles each of the characters in the game, listing their likes and dislikes, quirks and traits. Tricks and stunts are all performed by using the stylus alone, and the screen shots and exclusive video will explain just how this works in the tried and tested mantra of ‘easy to pick up, hard to master.’
The perfect gift for any mourning Dancing On Ice fan, pre-orders are available now and listed online, along with the soon to be announced competition to win the prize of a lifetime that no skating fan will ever forget!
Princess On Ice will be published by 505 Games on 25th April, exclusively for Nintendo DS, priced £24.99.

“Russia is the new America, and Moscow is the new New York, I love coming here,” enthused Comrade Desi said upon arriving in the former Soviet Union. “The people here are fantastic and the Russian gamers are like groupies at a rock concert. Thank God I don’t look like Elton John.”

Metal Gear Online - delayed
Konami was slated to release the beta version of "Metal Gear Online" or MGO yesterday, April 21st, but the release date has now been deferred to Saturday, April 25th. Subsequently, the end date for the beta has also been postponed from May 5 to 11. Server failure due to extraordinary traffic on Konami's Web site is the reason for this delay, reads a statement on the official MGO Web site.
The game was due to start it's betas spanning two weeks in USA and Europe on separate dates. Players faced a lot of problems downloading the beta package as well as registering with the IDs that were provided to them. A lot of gamers who were getting ready to start playing on Monday complained of installation issues over the weekend. Both the US and Europe betas have now been deferred by four days.
The official statement on the MGO Web site says, "As a temporary measure, we will be deferring the European public beta test and starting it once we stabilize our server. We would like to apologize for all inconvenience as well as confusion caused." Apparently, a spokesperson for Konami UK advised gamers to try the game ID registration process once again after a few days.
"Metal Gear Online" is an extension of online components from "Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence" and "Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops" and was originally intended to be a stand-alone product. However, it is now bundled as part of the "Metal Gear Solid 4" package. For additional information, here.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video games on Nintendo Wii PLAYSTATION 3 Xbox 360 PlayStation 2, PSP (PlayStationPortable) Nintendo DS Windows
Fans will relive the thrills, action and excitement of the movie this holiday season
EA’s Casual Entertainment Label and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game will be released later this year to coincide with the Warner Bros. Pictures film based on J.K. Rowling’s sixth Harry Potter book.
“We believe that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game represents a milestone in the movie tie-in genre,” said Harvey Elliott, Head of EA Bright Light studio in the UK where the Harry Potter franchise has its home. “Building on the technological advancements of previous games in the series and with a particular focus on the unique control system of Nintendo’s WiiTM, the team here is working closely with the filmmakers to create an immersive interactive experience that captures the story, the action, the excitement and, above all, the fun of the film. ”
“Working with EA, we look forward to offering fans a compelling Harry Potter video game, one which captures the thrilling storyline and high visual quality of the movie,” said Scott Johnson, Vice President, Business Development for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The adherence to the rich fiction is a trademark of this franchise and with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince fans will experience the most authentic and enjoyable game in the series to date.”
In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates! And then there’s Hermione, simmering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.
In the game of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, players will return to Hogwarts to help Harry survive a fraught sixth year. They will also have a chance to engage in exciting wizard duels, mix and brew magical ingredients in Potions class and take to the air to lead the Gryffindor Quidditch team to victory. Players may even get sidetracked by Ron’s romantic entanglements as they journey towards a dramatic climax and discover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince.
Under development by EA Bright Light Studio, the team behind the worldwide success of the Harry Potter library of games, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is scheduled for release in time for the movie launch this fall for the Nintendo Wii, PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP (PlayStationPortable), Nintendo DS, Windows PC, Macintosh and mobile devices.
