Capcom announces new video games 'Street Fighter X Tekken' and 'Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition' at Comic-Con 2010! - with video

Announced today at Comic-Con 2010 were two new fighting game titles from Capcom, the first being an online re-make of 90s classic 'Street Fighter III: Fight for the Future' with the inclusion of online multiplayer and gameplay/feature updates based on player request. Capcom also announced a cross-over title with Namco Bandai, merging the Street Fighter franchise with Tekken in a fighting game for the first time ever, in 'Street Fighter X Tekken'. Battle your way to victory at International Fighting Games Tournament 'Super VS Battle' next weekend!

With the release of Street Fighter IV, King of Fighters XII, BlazBlue, and the upcoming release of Tekken 6, the fighting game scene worldwide has been rapidly expanding, resulting in more interest in tournaments and casual sessions. As such, the folks over at Neo Empire have decided to make Super VS Battle 2009 an international event, in search of the world's best fighting game players.

The 3-day long tournament will contain a main roster of 10 games, along with even more side-tournaments to compete in, and casual play for those hoping to level their game up. The 10 main games at Super VS Battle 2009 are:

New Tekken 6 gameplay mode unveiled at E3 conference

NAMCO BANDAI reveale a new Scenario Campaign mode for TEKKEN 6, the latest entry to the blockbuster fighting franchise. The new mode for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system version of Tekken 6 will allow players to participate in single or two player online co-op campaigns while experiencing intense action and large-scale battles.

The Scenario Campaign features a unique hybrid control system combining conventional fighting game controls with free movement. This control system allows players to progress through the story and mow down hordes of enemies with relative ease while still enjoying fighting game action. In addition to hand-to-hand fighting, players have an arsenal of staffs, machine guns, flame throwers, and even giant robots at their disposal - a first for the series!

Choose from 40 playable characters and play alone or cooperatively online with a friend through a multitude of stages while amassing a wealth of items for customizing and strengthening your characters. Bring these fighters online to deliver bone-jarring punches and dominate opponents globally.

A must-have for fighting aficionados, TEKKEN 6 sees the return of many familiar faces as well as new characters to create the largest line-up in franchise history. Adding to the already robust gaming experience, dynamic and destructible environments will enable players to punch their enemies through concrete walls or kick them through floors to open a whole new battleground as they go mano-y-mano.
