Multiplay, the company behind the UK’s largest gaming festival, reveals today that Insomnia58 will be the first place for fans to get their hands on Sniper Elite 4 in the UK, the next installment of the popular WWII stealth shooter series.
Rebellion will also bring futuristic tank blaster Battlezone giving gamers rare access to one of the most anticipated PlayStation VR launch titles.
Sniper Elite 4 to redefine famous WWII sniper series
Following the award winning success of its predecessor, Sniper Elite 4 continues the series’ World War Two heritage by transporting players across the beautiful Italian peninsula, from sun-drenched Mediterranean coastal towns, to colossal Nazi mega structures, daunting forests and giddying mountain monasteries inspired by Monte Cassino.
Due for release in February 2017, the game will offer true next-generation sniping and run in native 1080p on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will also be the first title in the Sniper Elite franchise to have been built from the ground-up for next generation hardware.
With an expansive campaign for 1-2 players and dedicated co-op and adversarial multiplayer modes, Sniper Elite 4 aims to deliver the definitive World War Two shooter for a generation, with unrivalled sniping freedom across maps many times the size of those seen in Sniper Elite 3.
Craig Fletcher, CEO and Founder of Multiplay said: “We’re excited to be partnering with Rebellion to bring Sniper Elite 4 to Insomnia58. Our event series is all about bringing together passionate gamers from around the country and giving them the latest access to new developments in the industry, and this is a great example of what we’re achieving. Sniper Elite 4 is set to take the world by storm in 2017, so we hope lots come down to play it first at the NEC.”
Battlezone on Playstation VR will also be at Insomnia58
The mother of all tank games, Battlezone is back, and it will be playable on PlayStation VR at Insomnia58 this August bank holiday.
Designed for the next wave of virtual reality devices, Battlezone will give players unrivalled battlefield awareness, a monumental sense of scale and breathless combat intensity. In Battlezone, you are in the cockpit of a super weapon. Your instincts and senses respond to every threat on the battlefield as enemy swarms loom over you and super-heated projectiles whistle past your ears.
A bold homage to both the original 1980 title and the golden age of arcade gaming, Battlezone offers a stunning retro aesthetic and expansive, varied maps designed for far-future vehicle warfare, all powered by Rebellion’s next-generation game engine, Asura. Battlezone will launch alongside PlayStation VR on October 13th 2016.
Insomnia58 will be taking place at The NEC, Birmingham, 26-29 August, 2016 and are available online from £25 at https://insomniagamingfestival.com/tickets/.
