The aim of the game is to control the traffic lights to manage the traffic flow across the highways. Players have to make split-second decisions to keep the traffic flowing smoothly and avoid huge accidents, traffic jams and crashes.
Players control the traffic lights by tapping the screen which changes the lights from green to red and vice versa. The quicker the player safely crosses the traffic, the more points are awarded. If a vehicle crosses the highway without stopping at the lights, players are rewarded with double points.
The Traffic Panic app is free to download and players can earn coins by playing the game and unlock further levels. Or they can quickly buy their own coins via in-app purchase. Neon Play is currently creating an update to the game with new city environments in Miami and London, plus players will be able to earn or buy coins to unlock in-game features, boosts and traffic-flowing aids.
The game features live global leaderboards using Apple's social gaming network Game Center. Players can also compete against friends by posting their scores on Twitter and Facebook.
Oli Christie, CEO of Neon Play commented, "We're delighted by the initial success of Traffic Panic going to the top of the free App Store charts globally and hope that many more players enjoy the simple and addictive gameplay. With over 9 million app downloads of Neon Play apps, we hope that Traffic Panic becomes another App Store success story."
