Fishdom video game comes to iPad this month
Playrix Entertainment announced that it is bringing its hit title Fishdom to the iPad - official release expected by the end of June.
Fishdom for iPad is scheduled for release by the end of June and will be the second Playrix title to hit the App Store. The first app, Call of Atlantis for iPhone and iPod touch (compatible with iPad as well) has garnered favorable reviews since its pilot launch this May.
Fishdom for iPad is a match-3 game much like its downloadable counterpart, but fine-tuned specifically for the iPad's Multi-Touch capabilities. Players will need to earn cash by completing match-3 levels to be able to buy exotic fish, ornaments and plants and build the aquarium of their own design.
The original downloadable Fishdom franchise counts 6 installments, including the recently launched sequel - Fishdom 2. The game was also adapted for Facebook. The first Fishdom rolled out back in 2008 and since then won numerous Best Game awards. It was honored with the iParenting Media Award as Best Video Game of 2009. Fishdom H2O: Hidden Odyssey, a hidden object spin-off of the flagship title, was announced #1 Bestseller and Most Downloaded Game of 2009 by AOL Games.
"Loyal to our multi-platform strategy, we are excited to further advance the popularity of our titles by bringing them to iPad", said Igor Bukhman, Playrix's President, Products. "This viable platform is a great opportunity for developers to experiment and apply fresh innovative ideas thus breathing in new life into their existing titles. Having said that, I would like to clarify that Playrix will not only port existing established hits to iPad but will create future games with the iPad and other platforms in mind so that all adaptations of one game are united under one vision."
