10tons announces Boom Brigade video game for iPhone and iPod Touch

10tons Ltd. announced an upcoming title called Boom Brigade for iPhone and iPod Touch. The game is a mix of tower defense, top-down shooter, and line drawing games. The game will be released during September 2009 on App Store.

"We've tried to polish the game experience and difficulty curve to perfection. Now that the game is almost finished, we think that it offers a fun challenge for all kinds of players. It's easy to pick up, but reaching the higher boss waves takes some practice," commented game designer Timo Palonen. "I think it's one of the most enjoyable top down shooters to date. We wanted to create a classic game that uses modern controls on Apple's mobile devices."

The player controls a bunch of troopers each carrying a weapon of player's choosing: a minigun, a bazooka, or a shotgun. The troopers are controlled by drawing lines on the screen and they fire their weapons automatically at the alien horde. The game starts with one trooper and the reinforcements will be sent in as the pace picks up. The goal is to defend a bunker against the alien horde with an appetite for humans. The longer the player survives, the higher the score. Aliens drop loot which can be used to reinforce the brigade, heal the troops, upgrade the troopers, and repair the bunker.

AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!Dejobaan Games, LLC has launched "AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity" for Windows PCs.

Indie studio Dejobaan Games has just kicked "AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity" ("Aaaaa!") out of its nest. Bringing 80 levels of BASE jumping, rude gestures, and graffiti tagging together in a PC title, the game is now available from Direct2Drive, GamersGate, Impulse, Steam, WildTangent, and from Dejobaan's own website at www.dejobaan.com/aaaaa.

AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!

The jumps you make off buildings floating above Boston, Massachusetts are all about style and timing. You perform stunts, weaving around the bustling City for points, making split-second decisions: do you snake around those girders to earn a dozen "kisses," or glide along the side of that steel super-skyscraper for massive "hugs"? Aaaaa! then throws in the spectators - as you fall, give fans the thumbs-up and protesters the finger. And if you're hungry for a bit of civil disobedience, you can even ready the spraypaint and tag government buildings for points.

The game will also teach you how to debristle a pig.

Aaaaa! has garnered positive press over the course of its development. Thirteen1 magazine called it "...an electro-[fluorescent] cyber world that is both gorgeous and confusing... Aaaaa! is an unabashed adrenaline frenzy that will keep you entertained for ages." Mike Rose from Indiegames.com said, "Welcome to my pre-review for Aaaaa! which, in a nutshell, goes as follows: Buy this game." Anthony Burch from Destructoid said, "It may not come as much of a surprise given the title, but AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! also possesses a tremendous amount of character... It's got personality. It's different."

To quote one of Dejobaan's fans: "This may be the single greatest game ever created."

Availability and system requirements: AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity requires Windows XP/Vista; a 1.5GHz processor; 1GB system memory; a 3D card with 128MB video memory; and Microsoft DirectX 9.0c.

Rocket Racing video game on Xbox Live with tutorial and multiplayer videos

rocket racing cars crashes and exploding in top down view of gameRocket Racing has been released on Xbox Live Indie Games, available for purchase for 240 Microsoft Points. This is now the third game to be released under the Halfbrick Fridays range of casual games, and features a massive amount of content in one small download.

Halfbrick Rocket Racing uses a brand new analogue control system using just the left and right triggers. Press each one to power the rockets on each side of the racing craft, and alternate power between the two to turn and drift around over 40 tracks. The rockets will also serve to boost the craft off nearby walls, so the key to achieving the best times is to grind and slide around the perimeters of each track with speed and finesse.

Players can try over 40 unlockable tracks each with four medals to win, with race times uploaded to the Global Leaderboards to see where they rank against the rest of the world. Of course, the true value lies in multiplayer, with up to four players locally on one screen. With such intense speed, precise control and milliseconds between first and second place, multiplayer on Halfbrick Rocket Racing is an experience best served on the couch with likeminded speed freaks!
Check out the tutorial video narrated by Phil Larsen and Luke Muscat of Halfbrick, who explain the system of the game and walk the players through some of the earlier tracks.

Theatre of War 2 - Kursk 1943Theatre of War 2: Kursk 1943 is a new game in the Theatre of War series of tactical World War II titles. Theatre of War 2 is considered to be one the most realistic simulations of modern battle ever played on a PC. The Battle of Kursk lasted for forty nine days, from July 5 till August 23, 1943 and has made its way into history as one of the most crucial conflicts of WWII.

It was the last strategic offensive the Germans were able to mount in the east. The resulting decisive Soviet victory gave the Red Army the strategic initiative for the rest of the war. From the first moment of the battle until the very last shell is fired players will be in charge of whichever side they choose. Players will have to carefully plan each conflict and work both tactically and strategically. The accomplishment of an objective will affect the outcome of the entire battle, for instance the player's detachment will move forward to the next battle, and so will their reinforcements, artillery and air support.

Theatre of War 2: Kursk 1943 will feature over 20 new story-based missions with realistic military commanders such as Lieutenant General Ivan Chistyakov and Major General Walter Hoerlein. 40 types of military weaponry (including air defense guns, missile launchers, mortars), new vehicles and thirty types of small arms will be available in both the single player campaigns and the brand new multiplayer modes.
