The name of the shop was Happy Bakery.

“If only there was someone who loved bread as much as me…”

‘When Darkness Falls’ on the Universe, will you be ready to fight? - Jumpgate Evolution video game

jumpgate video game
Jumpgate Evolution unveils stunning new gameplay video and accessible space combat for all, thanks to highly scalable PC requirements and extensive peripheral support.

Jumpgate Evolution, the eagerly-anticipated sci-fi epic MMO from Codemasters Online & NetDevil today asks gamers whether they’ll be ready to fight the dark forces of The Skein ‘When Darkness Falls’ on the Universe, with the release of a stunning new gameplay video.

Gamers on a broader range of PCs than most MMOs will be able to experience the thrills of massive space conflict, thanks to the game’s high scalability and extensive peripheral support.

Jumpgate Evolution has been designed specifically with a wide range of PC specifications in mind, with machines running minimum specs as low as an Intel P4 1.4GHz processor* and will feature full peripheral support, along with intuitive controls for complete pick up and play accessibility. Almost anyone can take to the stars and battle to become an intergalactic hero in this spectacular massively multiplayer online space combat game.

As today’s video demonstrates, gamers will be able to enjoy breath-taking visuals and exhilarating combat action, and the scalability of the game means they can literally play anywhere, on anything that meet the game’s generous minimum spec. From today’s high-powered gaming rigs down to five-year-old PCs, as well as a wide spectrum of laptops, Jumpgate Evolution caters for almost everyone.

Adding to Jumpgate Evolution’s richly immersive space combat experience is full support for a number of different control methods. While keyboard and mouse controls are offered as standard, Jumpgate Evolution boasts a full range of joystick and game controller options, including the Microsoft Xbox 360® Controller for Windows®, to ensure the most realistic flight experience possible. No matter what your preferred system is, Jumpgate Evolution offers instinctive, comfortable, and responsive flight controls to suit even the most demanding space pilot.

In-game mechanics have also been designed to make Jumpgate Evolution as accessible to both new and experienced MMO gamers as possible. The simple pick up and play control system completely removes the need for any tutorials. Instead players learn through a combination of missions and encounters designed to introduce new pilots to a career in space, while helpful hint messages are relayed through the game’s sophisticated heads up display system.

“We’ve designed Jumpgate Evolution with low specification requirements in mind to ensure it runs fantastically on all types of PC’s,” commented Scott Brown, President of NetDevil. “While it looks amazing on high-end systems, Jumpgate Evolution is still a fantastically exciting and great looking game on older PCs. Better still; having lower system requirements means more players can enjoy the game. Ultimately this means we can have more players in each sector at once, making space combat in Jumpgate Evolution so much more thrilling. “

‘The combination of highly scalable PC requirements, multiple peripheral options and simple, yet fun to master controls means we’re opening up Jumpgate
Evolution to a much wider PC playing customer base than might have previously experienced massively multiplayer online games,” said David Solari, Vice President, Codemasters Online. “As a thrilling, all-action, twitch-based space combat game, Jumpgate Evolution offers something completely unique and highly accessible to the MMO market.”

Developed by the highly experienced US-based MMOG developer NetDevil, Jumpgate Evolution is an exhilarating space combat MMO, set in a vast expanding universe, that allows players to choose from one of three playable nations and engage in an intense action-packed gaming experience. While embarking on an immersive and accessible space adventure, players can trade valuable commodities, take part in awesome intergalactic battles, meet and play with friends, and live out the dream of an elite hero.

The Destiny of Zorro nintendo wii
Legendary Zorro Makes Debut on the Nintendo Wii in North America Offering Swashbuckling, Sword Fighting Fun for the Whole Family

Global videogame publisher, 505 Games, together with Zorro Productions, Inc. announced today The Destiny of Zorro, a new action-adventure videogame for the Nintendo Wii, featuring the legendary swordsman and defender of the people – Zorro!

The Destiny of Zorro marks the first interactive videogame experience for the Nintendo Wii platform in North America. Since his creation nearly a century ago by writer Johnston McCully, Zorro has left his mark on all major entertainment media including, stage, television publishing, and motion pictures, where some of the hottest Hollywood superstars have been featured. Available at retailers nationwide this spring, The Destiny of Zorro captures the timeless heroism of the mysterious masked marksman, providing non-stop action for fans and new gamers to enjoy.

“We are excited to extend the global phenomenon of Zorro from movies, live action and animated television series, and our Olivier Award-winning musical, to the video game world,” said John Gertz, CEO of Zorro Productions, Inc. “With videogame technology, we’re able to put fans and gamers in the middle of the action, to experience the fantasy of Zorro in a whole new way.”

“505 Games is truly honored by the opportunity to bring an iconic hero like Zorro, that speaks to so many generations, to the Nintendo Wii in North America,” said Adam Kline, president of 505 Games U.S. “For the first time ever, fans of Zorro will get to experience what it feels like to be the masked swordsman. They’ll be able whip and thrust their Wii remote, battling a variety of foes in non-stop action.”

In The Destiny of Zorro, players don the iconic mask, whip and sword, transforming themselves into Zorro, the defender of the oppressed, whose secret identity is the fictional, wealthy caballero Don Diego de la Vega. Players will enter the sun-scorched coast and desert landscape of early 1800s Spanish California. The multi-tiered story sees Zorro through his many crusades, including duels against the nefarious Calavera and his troops, thwarting a plot to steal an invaluable treasure, battling a power-hungry mob boss and waging war against an entire rebel army!

Utilizing the exclusive properties of the Wii remote control system, players can whip, slice and of course perform Zorro's signature 'Z' slash move to bring his foes to justice. The game also allows for play in both daylight and nighttime scenes, which adds excitement to the diverse and challenging environments. With an enticing new story and cast of characters, The Destiny of Zorro routes players on an epic adventure filled with intrigue and surprise.

Roots of evil revealed in Silent Hill - Shattered Memories video game on Wii PSP and PS2

silent-hill-shattered-memories
Konami reinvents its first Silent Hill classic, as Shattered Memories arrives to scare on Wii, PSP and PlayStation 2.

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH is to bring its terrifying Silent Hill series to Nintendo Wii as Silent Hill: Shattered Memories heads to the Nintendo system for the first time in Autumn.

The game, a clever reimagining of the now out of print first Silent Hill title, will also be released for PSP (PlayStationPortable) and PlayStation 2 at the same time.

While the game shares its twisting plot with the original PlayStation game, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories takes a different path in many, many ways. Characters can be approached but will offer different responses and be found in different places, while new clues and gameplay paths can be followed. The title follows Harry Mason, as he attempts to unravel the mystery of his missing daughter, Cheryl. A broken man, Mason’s investigations lead him to the mist-shrouded, snowy streets of Silent Hill: a malevolent town where the shadows play host to a wealth of evil, misshapen creatures.

Designed to make full use of the Wii’s unique controllers, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories uses the Wii Remote™ as a torch and cell phone as Mason looks for clues. The torch is vital for scouring the darkened, abandoned buildings of Silent Hill, while the phone acts as a secondary user interface, allowing the player to access maps via its GPS capabilities and take pictures of interesting elements. Likewise, the Wii Remote also can be used to pick up, examine and manipulate items to solve puzzles along the journey. Such technology was not available when the original Silent Hill was released in 1999, and its inclusion showcases Konami’s determination to enhance the playing experience with new, available technology.

Also new to Shattered Memories is a psyche profile element, which monitors every aspect of player’s reactions – from where they explore first, items that have been examined, and their reaction to those they meet. Small visual elements will also be altered slightly, adding to the oppressing atmosphere where nothing is what it seems. The psyche profile will adapt Harry’s actions as and when he meets normal-looking people or the game’s many inhuman denizens.

While the PSP and PlayStation 2 will feature a more familiar control system, both games will boast the new additions, and are certain to entrance hardened fans of Silent Hill and newcomers alike. All three games are being developed by Climax, the team behind the acclaimed Silent Hill: Origins for PSP and PlayStation 2, and will also feature an all-new soundtrack by series creator Akira Yamaoka.

Godfather 2 video game on Xbox 360 PlayStation3 and PC

Electronic Arts and Paramount Digital Entertainment today revealed the first details of The Godfather II videogame, the sequel to the 2007 multi-platinum hit. Inspired by the film and Mario Puzo’s Corleone family drama, The Godfather II game goes beyond the film’s story by setting players in the world of organized crime in 1960’s Florida, Cuba and New York.

After being promoted by Michael Corleone to Don of New York, players expand to new cities, as they build up their families through extorting businesses, monopolizing illegal crime rings and defeating new families in an effort to become the most powerful mob family in America. To help players manage their empire, The Godfather II introduces “The Don’s View” – an innovative strategy meta-game that allows players to oversee the entire world as they grow the family business. Using the Don’s View, players will be able to build, defend and expand their crime rings, while keeping an eye on the movements and plans of the rival families. Players will also learn to master the business of organized crime by building a family of Made Men, hiring crew, handing out orders, and promoting their best men up the ranks.

Set in a stunning open-world environment, The Godfather II expands on the popular gameplay mechanics of the first game and doubles down on the series’ signature BlackHand control scheme, which now features even more visceral hand-to-hand brutality at your fingertips, introducing a new combo system, pressure tactics and executions. In The Godfather II, players will fight alongside their hand-picked crew, who have their own skills and expertise. Each family member specializes in a specific field such as demolitions, arson, engineering, first-aid and more. As The Don you control the family, sending some of your men on missions while heading off into action with others. The combination of strategic organized crime gameplay and brutal BlackHand action sets The Godfather II apart from other open-world games.

“In the 1960’s, a mafia Don was only as strong as his family,” said Hunter Smith, Executive Producer of The Godfather II. “We found the hierarchical culture of organized crime intriguing. Running an organized crime family in a world defined by family loyalty is something that we felt could introduce a new strategic element to the genre. That is what the Don’s View is all about -- laying out a strategy to pick off the competition one by one. The Don’s View is so unique, it could fundamentally change the rules of open-world games by blending action and strategy to create something entirely new.”

“The Godfather has become an exceptional gaming franchise for the Studio,” states Sandi Isaacs, Senior Vice President of Interactive & Mobile for Paramount Digital Entertainment. “The videogame takes the story and gameplay to the next level with an innovative open-world action strategy that is both compelling and intriguing for gamers.”

The Godfather II will premiere exclusively on GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley on Friday, August 15th on Spike TV. The entire episode will be dedicated to The Godfather II including behind-the-scenes with the development team, the debut of the game trailer and a first look at the game itself.

Developed at the EA Redwood Stores studio, The Godfather II will be coming to the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system, PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system, and PC. The Godfather II has not been rated by the ESRB and PEGI.

Meet the Minions in Overlord Minions Nintendo DS video game

overlord nintendo ds video gameIntroducing the elite squad of Special Ops Minions that will star in Overlord Minions, coming this June for the Nintendo DS, Codemasters today released the first gameplay video of the fearsome foursome in action.

Get up close and personal with the Overlord’s best of breed in the trailer.

Giblet, Blaze, Stench, and Zap form the Minion crew that, assisted by Minion master Gnarl, feature in Overlord Minions, an irresistible and accessible puzzle action game designed exclusively for the Nintendo DS.

Set in the Overlord universe and penned by renowned games writer Rhianna Pratchett, Overlord Minions preserves the trademark humour of the Overlord series and features a completely new story, which runs parallel with Overlord® Dark Legend™.

In Overlord Minions the player assumes the role of the great Overlord and commands his crack commando team remotely. In this 100% touch screen controlled game, the Nintendo DS Stylus is truly mightier than the sword as players use the stylus as an extension of the Overlord’s evil will, commanding and combining the Elite Minion team through devilish puzzles and a huge range of warped enemies to prevent Silas, the head of a new Cult, from resurrecting an almighty Dragon and threatening the Overlord’s totalitarianism.

The Minion Special Farces Team
• Giblet: A brown minion and the main fighter, brave, willing, and a little dumb.
• Blaze: A pyromaniac red minion who throws fireballs as a powerful range attack.
• Stench: A sneaky green minion whose obnoxious ‘fart dart’ gases are not only flammable, but can overpower enemies with their sheer toxicity.
• Zap: A blue minion and the mystic shaman of the unit. He channels magic through this body and can heal the other minions, should they be injured.
Whether they’re going into battle, combining to perform increasingly powerful attacks or solving puzzles, the Minion quartet’s on-going banter and playful-yet-ferociously-violent nature perfectly compliments the unfolding carnage of Overlord Minions.

Prepare to battle a huge range of new enemies from infected sheep, goats, spiders, paladins, infected dwarves, mutated trolls, scorpions, winged elves and many more as Overlord Minions launches this June, exclusively for the Nintendo DS.
