NCsoft announce details for the Aion standard and Limited Collector’s Edition retail products. NCsoft expects to launch Aion, its highly anticipated fantasy MMO game, in the West this fall. Aion has exceeded expectations and captivated gaming populations in Korea, where it won the prestigious Grand Award of 2008 and in China, where Aion garnered unprecedented numbers of paying players during its launch week last month.

In Aion, players explore a celestial world of breath-taking beauty and epic adventure. Players create either winged Elyos or Asmodian avatars, sworn enemy races that discover a common foe: the twisted and depraved Balaur.

When Aion launches, players can purchase the Aion Limited Collector’s Edition box through multiple retail channels. The centrepiece of the Aion Limited Collector’s Edition box is a 16.5cm hand-painted figurine of the powerful Aiva, a female winged Asmodian Daeva. Aiva sports detachable wings and wields a removable axe. The Limited Collector's Edition features several exclusive in-game items, including the Black Cloud Wings, which greatly enhance flight time, the Black Cloud Earring, which boosts health and mana while playing, and an exclusive title that enhances an avatar’s abilities.

Additional in-game items include two exclusive character animations, called emotes, as well as a special dye colour to customize player avatars’ equipment. Opening the box uncovers two dual-sided posters depicting maps of Elysea and Asmodae, the home regions of the two player races. The Aion Limited Collector’s Edition box also contains the official Aion soundtrack by composer Yang Bang-Ean (known as Ryo Kunihiko in Japan), the Aion game client on two DVDs, a quick reference card, and a game manual.

Aion's standard version first production run is packaged in a premium SteelBook™ metal case, which includes the game DVDs, a user manual, and a quick reference card.

In Aion, players experience the thrill of flight as a strategic and integral part of gameplay that touches combat, quests, and exploration. In addition to unprecedented character customization and unmatched visuals, Aion invites players to soak up its breath-taking world through exploration of more than 1,500 quests, intense visceral combat, and a deep crafting system. For the first time in an MMO, Aion introduces a new game system that pits players against each other and their environment simultaneously in an otherworld zone called the Abyss.

The Aion Limited Collector’s Edition will sell at an anticipated price of £54.99, while the Aion standard edition will sell at an anticipated price of £34.99. Both retail packages include 30 days of game time. After 30 days, a monthly subscription fee of £8.99 for the game service will apply. Other pricing options will also be available. Pre-order purchases, available at retail stores June 9, can be applied to the Aion Limited Collector’s Edition or the standard edition of Aion. Details about pre-order benefits and subscription pricing options for Aion will be announced at a later date.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising - New E3 gameplay video

Operation Flashpoint Dragon RisingThink carefully, every choice is critical and death is never more than a tactical error away in Operation Flashpoint - Dragon Rising as revealed in the E3 2009 gameplay trailer released today and now available from www.flashpointgame.com.

As a soldier in the US Marine Corps, fighting a fearsome enemy on the remote Pacific island of Skira, gamers face critical choices that will make the difference between life and death. Using every ounce of their skill and resources, players must overcome the deadly Chinese PLA advance force that is claiming sovereignty over the oil-rich island and defuse a military flashpoint between two global superpowers that threatens to engulf the world.

Set in a completely open-ended 220km2 game world, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will put the fear back into the shooter by immersing players in a chillingly realistic conflict with an immense level of detail and authenticity. Players are given the freedom to handle unscripted missions on their own initiative, deploying the weaponry, vehicles and equipment of a state-of-the-art contemporary fighting force.

Whether it’s assaulting, flanking or suppressing the enemy, or calling on fire support to rain down from the skies, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising demands players think on their feet, reacting quickly to any situation the game’s advanced AI throws at them. No two engagements ever play out the same way and Skira’s theatre of war is a tense, intimidating experience that brings gamers closer to war than they’ll ever want to get.

“Tactics are everything in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising,” said Sion Lenton, Executive Producer, Codemasters. “If players charge in Rambo-style, as in some first-person shooters, it will be game over, very quickly. We empower players to approach things differently and use every available tactic and resource to achieve their objectives.”

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is set to deliver the most accessible, engaging and visceral sandbox shooter of the year when its published this autumn for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system and Games For Windows.

Millions of entertainment fans will soon have the way they watch TV transformed, as Xbox 360 and Sky announce a ground-breaking partnership which will enable, for the first time ever, premium live television to be watched through a games console.

In a UK and Ireland first, Sky Player, Sky’s online TV service, will come to Xbox LIVE in the autumn, allowing Xbox owners to access a range of channels and programmes to either view live or on-demand.

Details of the full channel line-up will be revealed closer to launch, but it is anticipated that Xbox LIVE users will be able to access blockbuster movies, must-see entertainment shows, thought-provoking documentaries, programming dedicated to kids, music and the arts, as well as all the excitement of Premier League football, Test Match cricket and a wide variety of other sports through Sky Sports.

The news, officially unveiled today in Central London by Sky Sports News Georgie Thompson, reveals there will be a number of viewing options.

For a new customer joining Sky through their Xbox, Sky Player will offer a wide range of live channels and on-demand content via a number of different packages. These customers will also be able to access their favourite shows on a pay-per-view basis.

Existing Sky customers who already own an Xbox will benefit from another way to view their favourite shows, in addition to their Sky set-top box and PC or Mac

There will be a range of unique interactive services available to the Xbox LIVE / Sky Player offering. For Sky Sports, for example, this will mean that live coverage will be supported by range of applications to enhance the viewing experience further. As well as fans being able to communicate with one another in real time via their broadband connections, they will also be able to check news and access fixtures, league tables and other on-demand information. Interactive applications will also be developed across other programmes genres.

Stephen Nuttall, Director of Sky’s Commercial Group comments:” Our partnership with Xbox is a further example of our commitment to put choice and control in the hands of customers. Xbox owners now have a range of ways to access Sky content and can pick and choose the platform and packages that are right for them. We are extremely excited about the opportunity of reaching Xbox owners who are looking to experience Sky for the first time, as well as giving our existing customers yet another way to experience the content they love.”

Echoing this, Neil Thompson, Head of Xbox UK and Ireland, adds: “Our customers have told us that they want the opportunity to use their consoles as a way to access TV and once again Xbox has pulled off an entertainment first with amazing content and rich interactive experience. The combination of Sky’s leadership in content creation and aggregation and our own in creating a constantly evolving new generation of rich 360 entertainment experiences means we are one step closer to our goal of offering Xbox owners the best entertainment experiences out there, whether it’s movies, music, games, interactive experiences or high quality TV.”

Sky Player joins Xbox LIVE’s ever-expanding interactive online offering spanning on-demand films, music videos and games. It also enables users to communicate with each other via live video chat and MSN Messenger, beating console rivals to cement Xbox 360 as a true pioneer of home entertainment.

Sky Player currently provides access to a range of live TV channels – including Sky Sports – and a comprehensive on-demand library of thousands of programmes spanning entertainment, movies, documentaries, kids, culture, news and sport.
