Star Wars Battlefront - Elite Squadron Storms PSP (PlayStation Portable) System and Nintendo DS
The Galaxy is Bigger Than Ever With Epic Multi-Level Fronts, Deep Original Story and Hugely Expansive Gameplay Features
Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron presents an expanded new take on the classic Star Wars Battlefront gameplay, resulting in new levels of interaction and excitement in handheld gaming. The massive, galactic campaign will ship this Fall for the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system and Nintendo DS.
For the first time ever in the Star Wars Battlefront series, players will be able to fight on multi-level battlefronts, on the ground and in space. Players can start the fight on foot, commandeer a vehicle to battle on the ground or dogfight in space, and land their craft and fight on capital starships. The battles waged on each front are all directly effected by the player’s actions, creating a combat experience where every shot fired and every enemy defeated can affect the outcome of a battle on another front.
Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron features a deep and engrossing single player campaign that spans the entire Star Wars Saga — and beyond. Gamers assume the identity of X2, a clone trooper created from the DNA of a Jedi Master. Originally tasked with eliminating Jedi during Order 66, X2 decides to leave his blood-stained past behind and joins the Rebellion. X2 isn’t the only Force-sensitive clone, however. X1, his clone brother, chooses a much more sinister path, leading to a confrontation that could determine the fate of both the Empire and the Rebellion.
Additionally, players will have at their disposal massive amounts of pick-up and play action for seemingly endless replay value. The PSP provides the deepest customization options ever seen in a Star Wars Battlefront title, allowing players to personalize and build their character with more weapons and items than ever before, including the weapons characters carry into battle, the armor they wear on their backs, their species, gender, appearance and physical strengths. Players can also unlock hundreds of other items and bonuses to help even the odds. On Nintendo DS, players can experience a unique class-based gameplay experience that allows them to outfit their characters with pre-determined weapon armaments, including heavy weapons, blasters and even lightsabers.
Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron on the PSP supports 16-player multiplayer, complete with in-depth stat tracking, and intense 4-player skirmishes on Nintendo DS across a wide number of modes, including the all-new “Heroes and Villains.” Take up arms as some of the most iconic Star Wars characters, including Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Kit Fisto, Darth Maul and other familiar faces from Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed™. And battle for the fate of the galaxy on some of the most memorable Star Wars planets of all time, including the forest-covered landscape of Endor, the frozen wastes of Hoth and even the mysterious Yavin 4.

Dionysian Dream, a 3D learning game about classical Greek drama for teens and adults
Phantom Compass, an independent Canadian game company, is in production on an original learning game called “Dionysian Dream: The Greek Drama Game.” The development process is open to the public at www.DionysianDream.com
Classics come to life
Dionysian Dream explores classical Greek drama through a contemporary lens. Activated by a storyline set at the intersection of a real tragedy and an imagined dream world, teen and adult learners interact with some of the most important playwrights and fictional characters of ancient Greece.
As the details of the drama emerge through game play, so too does the troubled past of the game’s mysterious protagonist. Through critical thinking, exploration and strategy, the player must unravel the main character’s identity and find a way to bring closure to the protagonist’s unresolved addiction and family issues.
Suitable for classroom and at-home use by teens and adults, Dionysian Dream is the game equivalent of a short film, designed to be completed in less than three hours.
“Traditional teaching tools are losing their effectiveness as media-savvy generations flood the school systems,” said academic advisor and York University professor Dr. Nanci White. “Dionysian Dream will offer an interactive, multimedia, interdisciplinary approach to learning. The game promises to be an engaging, story-driven experience for teen and adult learners.”
Timeless social issues
“Dionysian Dream looks at historic Greek drama through a contemporary lens,” said Phantom Compass founding director Tony Walsh. “We use the Euripides play ‘The Bacchae’ as a springboard to explore timeless social issues such as alcohol abuse, familial estrangement and sexual identity. We’re going places most games-and gamers-fear to tread.”
Phantom Compass assembled a specialized team of experts to oversee academic and interactive elements, including York University professor Dr. Nanci White, award-winning veteran of the motion picture and interactive industries James Allan and game designer Steve Tassie, who has performed Greek tragedy as a classically-trained actor.

Dionysus or Dionysos is the Greek god of wine, pleasure and one of the 12 Olympians. He was also known as Bacchus and is the patron deity of agriculture and theater.

Flip's Twisted World exclusive Nintendo Wii video game
New Puzzle Platformer Traps Players In A World Where Nothing Is As It Seems
Majesco, an innovative provider of video games for the mass market, today announced Flip’s Twisted World exclusively for Nintendo Wii. This unique puzzle platformer places the world literally in the palm of players’ hands as they navigate topsy-turvy environments where up, down, left and right are only a matter of perspective.
Developed by Frozen North Productions, Flip’s Twisted World is set to launch in Europe in Q1 2010.
“Flip’s Twisted World offers a truly innovative take on the traditional platform game by sidestepping conventional design in favor of a three-dimensional, perspective-altering approach,” said Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations for Majesco. “With a charismatic main character, fantastic puzzle landscapes and a unique gameplay mechanic, Flip’s gives platform game fans something to look forward to in the New Year.”
In Flip’s Twisted World, Master Fulcrum’s curious apprentice Flip messes with the wrong magic artifact and gets sucked into a crazy cubed universe. To escape his cube prison, Flip must turn the entire world to reveal new paths and endless possibilities. Adventuring through five bizarre puzzle worlds, Flip must stop the destruction of the universe and restore The Master’s home to normal before he returns.
Players help Flip navigate his world by rotating the environment 90 degrees in any direction with a simple twist of the Wii Remote™. Walls become floors and obstacles transform into openings once players change their point of view. As Flip progresses through the game he’ll meet many unique characters – some helpful, others hurtful – and collect five magic tools to aid his journey home. Optional side quests let players unlock bonus goodies and alternate costumes, while finding pieces of the Master’s lost journal reveals secrets of the magic universe’s past.
Flip’s Twisted World will also feature original music from prolific video game composer Tommy Tallarico, who has scored over 250 games and won numerous international awards for his work.

Zune will extend its video service to Xbox LIVE internationally this autumn. This marks an important development in the Zune strategy and brings the Zune brand to over 17 million international Xbox LIVE subscribers.
Zune will be the premium partner in the Xbox LIVE Video Marketplace, bringing an exciting catalogue of TV and films to the platform and exposing the Zune brand experience to millions of new consumers for the first time. This is the first time Microsoft has marketed the Zune entertainment service in Europe and is also a key step in Microsoft’s strategy to offer consumers a connected Zune experience across three screens (TV, PC and mobile).
“The Zune experience is growing beyond a music player in the U.S. Zune’s international expansion starts with video on Xbox LIVE; eventually we’ll offer the full digital entertainment experience spanning screens, devices, platforms and geographies,” said Chris Stephenson, General Manager of Consumer Marketing for the TV, Video and Music Business. “Delivering on Microsoft’s connected entertainment vision; this news marks a turning point for Zune as it brings cross-platform experiences and premium video content to living rooms around the world.”
With Zune video on Xbox LIVE consumers will have the option to view a wide selection of TV and film content how and when they want: either instant streaming, download to rent or download to own, so you can watch even when you aren’t connected to the internet.
Neil Thompson, Senior Director Entertainment Division UK & Ireland commented: “Xbox customers in the UK & Ireland enjoy music much like a national sport. This introduction of Zune video service to Xbox Live will offer additional even more high definition content continuing our journey to become the leading platform for entertainment experiences.”
In addition, Microsoft today confirmed the next generation of its portable media player, Zune HD. Available in the U.S. only from this autumn, Zune HD is the first portable media player with built-in HD Radio receiver, HD video output capabilities, OLED touch screen, Wi-Fi and an internet browser.
Zune is Microsoft’s music and entertainment brand that provides an integrated digital entertainment experience. The Zune platform includes a line of portable digital media players, elegant software, the Zune Marketplace online store, Zune Pass music subscription service, and the Zune Social online music community, created to help people discover more music. Cronous Popularity Surges
Rapidly approaching goal of 10,000 concurrent users
Lizard Interactive’s globally played fantasy MMORPG title Cronous successfully officially opened service in Taiwan on May 20 with the number of concurrent users quickly reaching over 5,000.
The Taiwanese online game market is one of the most competitive markets in the world with new games constantly being launched. Lizard Interactive CEO Sang Wook Lee commented, “The successful launch of Cronous was largely due to the innovative and extensive marketing and promotional strategies of XtraVision Entertainment, Lizard Interactive’s publisher for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao”.
In order to ensure that XtraVision encountered no unexpected problems, Lizard Interactive sent a team of programmers to assist on site before and after the launch. This decision paid off as the number of users surged and four additional servers had to be installed quickly to accommodate them.
XtraVision Entertainment Chairman Victor Wu commented, “Originally, we had planned for 9 servers, but due to the overwhelming number of users, 4 servers were added. We plan to continue to add servers as the number of users increase and are confident that we will reach our goal of 10,000 concurrent users for Cronous.
XtraVision Entertainment signed a publishing agreement for the game portal NeoFun.com operated by Lizard Interactive and its games in January of this year. There was extensive localization of Cronous for the Taiwan market for four months before its launch on May 20 with a new name for the Taiwanese market as Crusades 2. XtraVision is now preparing the launch of two more MMORPGs, Sho Online and Land of Magic in the second half of this year.
