Time Gentlemen, Please! Zombie Cow Studios outrageous sequel to free award winning video game Ben There, Dan That! has become an internet cult hit

zombie cow video game screenMore classic point-and-click adventure games on the way

‘Time Gentlemen, Please!’, Zombie Cow Studios’ outrageous sequel to the award-winning ‘Ben There, Dan That!’, has fast become a cult hit all over the internet, with a whopping Metacritic score of 89, and a PCZone Classic Award (90%) under its belt.

Zombie Cow Studios is now proud to announce there’s likely to be more from the haphazard geeks Dan and Ben: “Time Gentlemen, Please! has been so well-received. We’ve currently got a higher Metacritic score than both the Monkey Island Special Edition and the Tales of Monkey Island’s first episode, which are both properly amazing, so really it makes sense to be looking into continuing the franchise...”

Talking to RockPaperShotgun, Zombie Cow Studios’ Dan Marshall today confirmed there are more adventures in the works. “Instead of writing a whole new adventure, I’m currently hard at work making an ‘Episodes Engine’, which is being custom-built from the ground up (whatever that means, it sounds right) to make writing new adventures [for Dan and Ben] much much easier.”

“We’re looking at doing shorter, cheaper, standalone jabs of entertainment – possibly just an hour or so’s gameplay to slot into that gap you’ve got on a weekday evening, the same sort of length as an episode of something on TV... We’ve come up with an amazing opener – something that’s a bit of a refreshing departure from the other games, but still slots in nicely with the idea of Dan and Ben being old-school adventurers, always getting themselves into scrapes. The really exciting thing for me about doing shorter games is that we can do much more interesting things in terms of puzzles, settings, complexity and mechanics."

With its bizarre, madcap sense of humour, superb design and laugh-out-loud script, ‘Time Gentlemen, Please!’ has taken the point-and-click genre by storm, with extremely positive press likening it to the classic adventures we all remember from our youths, dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century for an enlightened, more sweary and grown-up market.

‘Time Gentlemen, Please!’ is the successor to ‘Ben There, Dan That!’ which was voted Best Freeware Adventure Game of 2008 by both the critics and readers of JayIsGames.com. The plot follows haphazard geeks Dan and Ben as they saunter through time trying to put a stop to an alternate-universe Hitler and his army of cloned Nazi dinosaurs.

"...excellent scripting, consistent, cartoony design and delight in overtly, overly referential absurdity...even the Telltale titles are clunky and formulaic compared to the anarchistic invention of games like this... 9/10” Eurogamer.net

“It's one of the most outrageous games I've ever played and for that alone I love it. – 90% (Classic Award)” PCZone

“Funnier than any game in years, and delightfully rude. Point-and-click adventuring done right for a change. 87%” PCGamer

“Indie Pick of the Week… fans of the genre won't want to miss it… full of British wit, adult language … and the esoteric puzzles we all know and love.” – IGN.com, and 'Best of 2009' feature

"Incredibly British, with a mix of witty banter, silly animations and hilarious facial expressions... not only the best adventure game I've played in a very long time - it is one of the best adventure games I've played. Ever." IndieGames.com

"...a playground for just about every type of humor that is likely to get you ousted from civil society... The writing is simply wonderful… bigger, better, harder, and raunchier than the original by a mile. 4.9/5” Jay Is Games.com

‘Time Gentlemen, Please!’ is available for purchase at the preposterously low price of £2.99/ $5ish from www.zombie-cow.com/tgp. Ben There, Dan That! remains gloriously free from www.zombie-cow.com/btdt

Nazi Dinosaurs abound in 'Time Gentlemen, Please!'

‘Time Gentlemen, Please!’ is the hilarious follow-up to 2008’s award-winning comedy adventure game ‘Ben There, Dan That!’.

After their original outrageous misadventures, layabout geeks Dan and Ben find themselves as accidental and somewhat-neglectful Rulers of the Earth and as such, proud owners of 6 billion corpses. What’s more, ‘fixing everything up’ by craftily popping back in time has resulted in an alternate-universe Hitler with an entire army of goose-stepping Nazi dinosaur clones! Whoopsie!

Now they’re going to need your help to get out of what is, let’s be honest, a thoroughly preposterous mess.

‘Time Gentlemen, Please!’ is a classic point-and-click adventure game, dragged into the 21st century with over-indulgent use of all the different colours, a full glorious soundtrack and those trendy particle effects the kids seem to need, to enjoy themselves these days.

All this for only £2.99/ $5ish, which is pretty much the same as a pint in an overpriced London boozer. Bargain.

Being a low budget indie studio, we’re keen to garner as much attention for the game as possible, so please direct any questions or requests for review copies/ exclusive site content (interviews, etc) to dan@zombie-cow.com, and I’ll be more than happy to help. www.zombie-cow.com/tgp is the direct link to the game's page.

Bolt your doors Dead Frontier Zombies are out to get you...

dead frotier screenshotBarricade your windows, the zombie virus is real and spreading fast! Jagged Blade Games is proud to announce the open beta of their free to play zombie horror MMORPG, Dead Frontier.

"The game has been in development and various stages of testing for the past 2 years. We're now at a point where we believe the game is ready to be enjoyed by a wider audience," said Lead Developer, Neil Yates. "I'm excited to see what gamers will make of a true horror MMORPG, it's a pretty unique concept."

Dead Frontier combines 3rd person survival horror action with more traditional role-playing elements to create a totally unique MMO experience. Players will need to have their wits about them as they struggle for survival in the decaying, zombie infested city of Fairview. Will you stay in the relative safety of the last remaining human outpost, or attempt to create your own hideout in the depths of the city? The choice is yours.

Dead Frontier plays exclusively in your browser and requires no extra downloads of any kind. What's more the registration requires only a few seconds so you'll be playing in no time!

Unique survival horror gameplay. Unlike other MMOs, survival is a high priority. Food, ammunition and medical supplies are rare so there’s a lot more to staying alive than just defeating monsters. What’s more the game is hard, you’ll need keep on your toes if you want to do well. Despite being purely 2D, we believe Dead Frontier is one of the most scary and atmospheric games available.

100% player driven economy. There isn’t a single NPC vendor in Dead Frontier, everything is either bought from, or sold to other real players. The net result is a realistic, but highly unstable post apocalyptic economy. This opens up a lot of new interesting trade centric gameplay.

Create your own hideout. In Dead Frontier you can choose to live in the last remaining human outpost, or barricade an abandoned building deep within the dangerous inner city. Surviving away from civilization is hard, but the potential rewards are great.

Global events. At certain times during the day the main human outpost will be attacked by hordes of undead. Up to 3000 players will need to work together in order to fight off the horde and protect the innocent civilians in the outpost.

Explore a huge deserted city. Fairview is a massive metropolis spanning several miles. Loot from a huge array of realistic buildings, from office complexes to restaurants and supermarkets.

Choice of either single player or multiplayer. In order to give Dead Frontier a true horror feeling we decided to implement a single player version of the game when you venture into the dangerous zones. This gives you a feeling of isolation which adds to the eerie atmosphere. It also means you’re not forced to interact with other players if you don’t feel like it.

Future Features:
Currently Dead Frontier is still in beta and several planned features are missing. These include:

Extensive avatar customization system
Missions
Clan System
More enemies
More locations

Burn Zombie Burn!
The upcoming release of what will surely prove to be one of the most addictive and charismatic arcade shooters of 2009: Burn Zombie Burn! available exclusively on Playstation Network on Thursday, March 26, 2009.

Burn Zombie Burn! is one of Sony Computer Entertainment America's exclusive downloadable games on their PlayStation Network, and will be given the all star promotional treatment to ensure it's success. About the Game

Burn Zombie Burn! is set across six classic American-horror movie inspired levels. A top-down, arena-based third-person shoot 'em-up in the classic coin-op tradition will contain all new mechanics.

The goal is simple: to get the highest score possible. Your hero is Bruce - an average every-day Joe who was looking forward to spending some 'quality time' with his girlfriend Daisy when their Saturday night is interrupted by a zombie invasion. Standing in your way is a never ending horde of undead. To survive you must shoot, burn and explode as many zombies as possible before they overwhelm you. Fire is your most important tool and massive scores can be achieved by burning the zombies en masse and setting up huge chains of explosions that wipe them out in one go.

Burn Zombie Burn! is frantic, arcade gaming at its best - delivering dark humor and bloody zombie violence in copious amounts!

NecroVisioN - bringing high-kicking Vampire Ninjas to Life in PC video game

necrovision ninja zombies
A behind-the-scenes glimpse at how Polish developer The Farm 51 brought to life some of the grotesque monsters in upcoming horror-shooter NecroVisioN. The game is being released exclusively on PC in February, 2009.

Ever wondered how a videogame developer might create realistic movements for a karate-chopping vampire? Well, this new video reveals the lengths that The Farm 51 went to, so they could get realistic movements and animations for the key characters and enemies in NecroVisioN. From zombie soldiers to demons, each was meticulously motion captured and then animated by the studio.

Watch the video on my YouTube channel here... (please subscribe)

The developer enlisted the help of six-time world kick boxing champion, Marek Svitek, to make sure all the high-kicks and punches of the vampires looked fantastic. What’s more, it’s a great opportunity to see developers running around with fake guns and there’s even a chance to see the film producer and director in just his underpants. Never before has a developer allowed such access.

NecroVisioN is a fast-paced and furious first-person shooter from The Farm 51 that blends historical detail with nightmarish horror. You play as Simon Bukner, an American soldier who decides to help the British effort to take out the German threat. But that’s only the start of his troubles and Bukner soon realises that there’s something far more terrible stirring in the trenches.

NecroVisioN will be released exclusively on PC by 505 Games under the 1C Company label in February 2009.
