Shenmue and Shenmue II Dreamcast classics to get re release
The Shenmue III Kickstarter campaign by Yu Suzuki had a target of $2 million and went on to raise $6 million! the game will be published in PS4 and PC formats.

Rooke said:-
"Yes, we want to innovate and back smartphones and virtual reality but our key purpose is to go back to what the brand used to stand for and I think the buzz around Shenmue 3 shows that people love our legacy,”
He confirmed that SEGA is looking into ways it can re-release the first two Shenmue games. Possibly as remasters.

He went on to say:-
"SEGA was an innovator, the Dreamcast was offering online gaming as early as 1998. But perhaps back then we were pushing boundaries a little too soon. Nowadays we know what we’re good at and the strategy is to be more gradual. Over the next few years, we want to use engaging content and marketing to remind the public why they fell in love with SEGA in the first place."
Shenmue consists of open-world 3D environments interspersed with brawler battles and quick time events. It includes elements of role-playing, life simulation and social simulation games, such as a day-and-night system, variable weather effects, non-player characters with their own daily schedules, and interactive elements such as vending machines, arcades, and mini games. The story follows the teenage martial artist Ryo Hazuki as he sets out in revenge for the murder of his father in 1980s Yokosuka, Japan.

The original Shenmue became the most expensive video game ever developed at the time estimated to cost between $47 and $70 million.
