Like the original, Rocket League is a futuristic sports game in which players control rocket-powered vehicles to play an enhanced version of soccer by driving their vehicles into the ball and other players.
The gameplay is physics-driven, enabling players to hit the ball at the right angle to knock it into the goal. Rocket League expands on this successful gameplay formula of its predecessor with a major graphics update, a more content-rich experience, and tons of new features and updates.
KEY FEATURES
• Physics-driven Vehicle Interactions: Rocket League’s vehicle movement uses an advanced physics system to simulate realistic interactions between cars and other cars and the ball. These interactions provide limitless ways for players to influence the ball and each other and are much more rewarding when executed correctly.
• Local, Online, and Splitscreen Multiplayer: Rocket League is creating its own server-based matchmaking and party system inspired by League of Legends, Killzone, and World of Warcraft, and looks to develop a perfect balance for matchmaking, party systems, friend lists, patches, distribution, the online store, and social awareness to create great online multiplayer experiences.
• Split-screen mode – Harking back to the days of sitting on a couch together with friends and playing split-screen multiplayer, Psyonix’s Rocket League will offer two- to four-player split-screen options for gamers, giving them the option to play at home, or for players who don’t have Internet access or poor Internet access, the chance to play multiplayer at home.
• Versatile Replay System: Rocket League delivers an extremely versatile replay system. Following each goal, players are shown an instant replay of all the events leading up to that goal using a cinematic camera. Rocket League also saves a replay of the entire game itself. There are many more replay options.
• Career Mode – The new single-player campaign starts off easy and then challenges gamers as they progress through a full season full of teams, arenas, and surprises in the new career mode.
• Leaderboards – For multiplayer gamers with the knack to compete, Rocket League offers monthly leaderboard winners, and will reset every month/season. Leaders will be displayed in the game for the next month, until the next month/season’s winners make the boards, and so on each month.
