Christmas Tournament Announced for Stronghold Crusader 2 - Enter here - PC

Win a lifetime’s supply of DLC and signed merchandise.

Firefly Studios has opened applications for the first ever Stronghold tournament hosted by the developer. Run in association with the Stronghold community on YouTube, the new tournament is a combined effort between the developer and its fans.

“We’re not Starcraft. We haven’t got TV channels or players with worldwide fame to catapult Stronghold into the world of e-sports” said Nick Tannahill, Marketing Manager at Firefly. “What we do have is an extremely dedicated fan base and community of YouTubers who love playing our games and know that multiplayer is at the core of Crusader. It’s difficult for developers or players to cultivate a multiplayer community on their own, but together we can give Crusader 2 the kind of longevity it deserves. We’ve learnt a great deal from Stronghold Kingdoms and want to use that experience to support Crusader 2’s multiplayer post-release with content updates, DLC and events like these”.

Winning players in the tournament will receive the following prizes:

Winner
All Future DLC
Signed boxed copy of Crusader 2
Stronghold Crusader 2 T-Shirt

Runner-Up
First DLC
Signed boxed copy of Crusader 2
Stronghold Crusader 2 T-Shirt

Semi-Finalists
First DLC
Signed boxed copy of Crusader 2
Stronghold Crusader 2 Lanyard

To enter the tournament, applicants must fill out and submit their registration form by 17:00 GMT on November 17th: http://bit.ly/SC2form

The tournament will begin on Monday November 24th with the first match at 17:00 GMT. It will feature 63 matches in total, with a live stream of the grand final on Sunday December 14th. Matches will be held daily throughout the tournament between 17:00 and 21:30 GMT, giving players plenty of time to practice between games and test basic tactics in the lower level matches. In order to prevent the same strategies being used across all 63 matches the tournament has been divided into three phases, rotating between the ‘Crusader Tactics’, ‘Hyena’ and ‘Breath of Life’ multiplayer maps. The above DLC prizes cover all currently planned paid-for DLC, which includes eight extra ‘AI Lord’ opponents for the game and their associated content.

There is no limit to the number of submissions and players have one week to get their applications in. The number of contestants in the tournament is limited to 64, with these players being chosen randomly from the pool of applicants and their participation announced on November 19th.
