Zero Point released its first co-op expansion update. “Our last update included a huge new co-op and single player mission called The NeuroGen Incident”, explains Kim Haar Jørgensen, Creative Director of Interstellar Marines. “We’ve now expanded the number of co-op maps available to play by adding brand new co-op challenge game modes to three of our maps, further increasing the number of hours of fun our players can enjoy in both co-op and single player”.
Interstellar Marines was launched on Steam’s Early Access on July 2nd, 2013. Since then the developers have released 11 updates and several smaller update fixes. Interstellar Marines is being developed on the Unity 3D engine and is currently in Pre-Alpha.
When complete, Interstellar Marines will resurrect the old school tactical FPS, and offer a unique blend of co-op, role-playing and nonlinear gameplay. Set in a believable future, you will take on the role as an elite soldier handpicked to join Project IM, a top secret military program being assembled to protect mankind from all dangers outside our solar system.
Interstellar Marines is inspired by Half-Life, System Shock 2 and Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. The game is all about evolving the FPS recipe with all the inspirations ZPS has assimilated since the birth of the genre. The goal is an evolutionary leap forward driven by their compulsive interest in science fiction, role-playing, military realism, and respect for first person immersion.
“We’ve used two fan-favourite maps, and also updated and improved our 2014 PAX demo, then added a unique game mode to each map. They perfectly compliment The NeuroGen Incident as they’re shorter and more challenge-oriented. Players can play them on their own, or with up to three friends, and immerse themselves in intense, tactical gameplay against relentless AI combat training robots”, said Jørgensen.
As well as the new co-op and single player content, the latest update includes the recent two hotfixes for The NeuroGen Incident.
