March on Moscow in New DLC for Unity of Command - Black Turn

It's here! The final piece of DLC for the landmark wargame Unity of Command.

A few years ago, 2x2 Games made a beautifully elegant wargame that captured the brutal speed of Blitzkrieg on the Eastern Front of World War II, and the harsh effects of outrunning your supply line.

Now we have Black Turn: Operation Barbarossa, the story of the assault on Moscow by the German army and the Soviet efforts to beat it back, ensuring that Hitler's folly would drag on.

Unity of Command is difficult to master but very easy to understand, unlike many other wargames that deal with this subject. Clear iconography combined with a focus on the ground war and logistics issues make it my personal favorite.

The German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941 is one of the great military adventures in history. An unstoppable war machine runs into an underequipped foe, but must also defeat weather and geography. The fate of the world would be decided in Eastern Europe.

In Black Turn: Operation Barabarossa, 2x2 Games expands on their modern classic Unity of Command in a new game that examines the German assault on Mother Russia with the deft scenario design, powerful AI and operational clarity that has made the Unity of Command games a favorite in wargame communities of all skill levels.

This prequel DLC, whose events happen prior to “Stalingrad Campaign”, completes the Eastern Front story as told by Unity of Command. Take control of the Wehrmacht and its allies in Operation Barbarossa, from the dramatic early victories all the way to ignominious defeat at the gates of Moscow.
