LEGO Lord of the Rings Official gamescom teaser trailer - PC PS3 X360 Wii PSV 3DS

Based on The Lord of the Rings motion picture trilogy, LEGO The Lord of the Rings follows the original story lines of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, taking players through the epic story events re-imagined with the humor and endless variety of LEGO play.

Trusted with the dangerous task to destroy an ancient magical ring that threatens all that is good, Frodo is forced to leave his peaceful home. But the ring wants to be found and the road to Mount Doom, the only place where it can be destroyed, will be perilous and riddled with Orcs and fouler things. To help Frodo, a Fellowship is formed —Aragorn the Ranger, Gandalf the Wizard, Legolas the Elf, Gimli the Dwarf, Boromir a Man of Gondor, and Frodo’s Hobbit friends Sam, Merry and Pippin. Players relive the legend through the LEGO minifigures, as they explore wonders, solve timeless riddles, and overcome endless foes in their quest to destroy the Ring.

Frodo Baggins
A small and quiet Hobbit from Bag End, Frodo is entrusted to bring the One Ring to Mount Doom and destroy it forever. In spite of his noble spirit, he starts to feel the terrible powers of the One Ring and the danger of the fearsome creatures who hunt him. With the help of his friends in the Fellowship, Frodo must bravely carry this heavy burden to save Middle-earth.

In-Game Abilities: Phial of Galadriel to act as a light in dark places. Elven cloak that camouflages the wearer. Wields Sting. Possesses the One Ring which, when worn, accesses the Wraith-world of the Nazgῠl.

In-Game Abilities: Has a tinder box to start fires, sleek Elven rope to explore new areas, and ability to grow spectacular flowers and vines.

Gandalf
A warm and wise Wizard, Gandalf is the leader of the Fellowship of the Ring and dedicated to defeating Sauron. He returns after an epic duel with a Balrog to become a more powerful Wizard known as Gandalf the White.

In-Game Abilities: Has a magical staff that can lift and build LEGO objects, provide light in dark places and shoot out bolts of energy.

Aragorn
Known merely as a Ranger of the North, Aragorn is actually a descendant of ancient kings and heir to the throne of Gondor.
