Was Minecraft - Pocket edition a mistake? Maybe says Mojang developer

Having spent hundreds of hours playing Minecraft at home you could always stop when you left the house. Now with Minecraft - Pocket edition that's not the case.

Mojang have now said the portable edition wasn't as good as they would have liked it to be. In a reaction to lots of comments and feedback complaining about the mobile edition of Minecraft Mojang have admitted they got it wrong. With monsters, different blocks and animals in gamers wish lists and now the developers have agreed to re-write the code to include gamer requests.

You'll have to wait until February before the update will submitted to Android and iOS App markets.

What will the update include?
In the background a lot of stuff has changed to support the survival aspects of the game. You will see some neat looking animals and new blocks. Crafting won’t be in this update since we need to redesign the GUI for it and it will need some iteration and thinking. But the great part is that the foundation for survival will be mostly done and we can throw out much more fun updates! Yay! :D And hopefully the progress of the updates will be much more faster. Oh, and of course some bug-fixing have been done too. Doors and fences will be in there it too!
