To-Fu 2 to arrive next week with new obstacles, new modes, and 100 new levels

One of the iPhone and iPad’s most inventive games is about to bounce back into the App Store as Hotgen announces To-Fu 2, the sequel to one of the most revered iOS games of recent times.

To-Fu: The Trials of Chi introduced the world to the App Store’s most malleable hero – a tofu ninja with a penchant for ‘pinging’.

Using a one-touch control system, players simply ‘pinged’ To-Fu through 100 levels riddled with puzzles and traps in an effort to reach the end of level Fortune Kitty. It proved a tremendous success, with over 700,000 downloads to date worldwide.

To-Fu 2 expands upon the original in almost every way, as new levels play host to new obstacles and a fresh game mode adds an increased layer of challenge. Thought the original became tricky? Just wait until you meet the rotating rebound platforms, or the rebounding crumbling blocks. Combined with the original pieces and the same loving level design, the new additions make for some truly fiendish puzzles.

And for the clever clogs that manage to complete each level – either in the requisite number of moves, collecting all available Chi or simply making it to the end in once piece – the new Time Trial mode asks you to do all of the above, but faster. Ouch.

To-Fu 2 features Game Center integration, with leaderboards offering bragging rights to the best of your friends or the best in the world. Optional micro transactions allow you to personalise the game, with new themes, costumes and even gameplay enhancements.

“With an average App Store rating for 4.5/5, To-Fu: The Trials of Chi has proved to be one of the most celebrated puzzlers of its time,” says James Stewart, Producer, Hotgen. “The sequel is bigger and better in every way. We’ve taken great delight in coming up with what we think are the most fiendish trials To-Fu has encountered yet – we can’t wait to see what people think when it’s released.”

To-Fu 2 will be available shortly through the App Store, for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad (universal App).
