US court allow Sony to identify visitors to PS3 hacker's website

Sony has been granted a subpoena by a US court in its legal battle against PlayStation 3 hacker George Hotz. This allows the media giant to view his website's visitor logs as it attempts to examine the reach of the PS3 jailbreak.


Google and Bluehost have been ordered to release all server and IP address logs plus account information, access records and application or registration forms for George Hotz websites.

The order covers logs from January 2009 to the present date. Also subpoenad are YouTube and Twitter who have to provide - all records or user names and IP addresses that have posted or published comments - made in response to the video that demonstrated George Hotz jail breaking of the PlayStation 3.
