Learn2Make, the company behind the hit iPhone app "Balloon Animals 3D" is rapidly developing a follow-up app which will teach dollar origami.
Dollar origami (also known as "orikane") is the art of folding dollar bills, or other paper money, into various objects. British Pounds, Mexican Pesos, European Euros, Japanese Yen etc. can also be used for origami paper folding. Learn2Make uses the same proprietary interactive 3D animation technology that it used in the "Balloon Animals 3D" app to present the dollar origami instructions. Two instructional 3D dollar origami animations are now ready and available to the public as bonus instructions in the apps "Balloon Animals 3D" and "Balloon Animals 3D Pro".

Unlike traditional origami diagrams, the dollar origami animations look like actual dollar bills floating within an iPhone. When the user progresses through the steps, the dollar bill deforms itself fold by fold until it resembles an object. While the 3D dollar graphic is folding into the desired shape, the user can rotate it to any angle and zoom it in and out, by using the innovative touch screen of the iOS device. Because the graphic looks like real money, the user can use the various symbols and references on the dollar bill itself to verify that the folds are being made correctly and in the proper proportions.
"This is basically like dollar origami existing in the world of Tron," stated Queiroz, "the 3D graphics from the film are very similar to what Learn2Make has accomplished with the 3D dollar origami animations."
