Engineous’ debut, Sketch Nation Shooter, allowed users to create top-down shooters for the iPhone by taking pictures of their drawings and plugging them into their games – with over 6,500 user-made games to date. Sketch Nation Jump takes it a step (or three) further, letting fledgling game designers create full platform games from physical drawings, or by using the in-app drawing tool on the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad!
More ground-breaking, though, is the fact that Sketch Nation Jump will allow users to actually submit their creations for sale on the App Store!
Spooky Jump, the Halloween-themed jumping platformer, is the first game created using the Sketch Nation Jump engine.
“With Sketch Nation Jump, we’re giving those fledgling game developers a chance they could never otherwise have – the chance to design, develop and commercially release a game on the App Store. Maybe someone out there will create the next chart-busting blockbuster!” said Nitzan Wilnai, CEO of Engineous Games. “Spooky Jump offers a glimpse of the endless possibilities Sketch Nation Jump will offer.”
The first update to Spooky Jump will be available soon, including leaderboards, Game Center and Facebook integration, and a news feed.
