The aim of the game is simple: Blast away waves of choppers, trucks, jets, and tanks before facing the bombers, armoured airships and Special Ops on each level, before progressing to the next assault. You can collect upgrades to boost your firepower with missiles, bombs, lasers and nukes, blitzing the enemy in a torrent of destruction.
Playerthree’s Managing Director Pete Everett, said: “It’s very exciting to finally launch our first Minis title, and to see some of our own IP come alive on a console. We’ve been pouring our experience of Flash games development into the PSP and squeezing as much out of the platform as we can to enhance the gameplay and visuals to bring Apache Overkill to a new platform. We’re committed to the PSP and also to developing more of our own IP in the future with two more original titles already in development.”
Creative Director David Streek, said: “Apache Overkill is a relentless shoot ‘em up crammed full of explosive action that anyone can pick up in seconds. Overkill by name and nature, it's a perfect fit for gamers looking for pure, addictive fun.”
Available in Europe on September 29th and America from October 5th, “Apache Overkill” is playable on both the Playstation Portable (PSP) and Playstation 3 (PS3). It is priced at just $2.99 / £1.99 / €2.49 , downloadable from Sony’s Playstation Network (PSN) Store.
