Video game designer awarded $28 million in damages from NCSoft - Richard Garriott sacked on return from International Space Station!

Space traveller and game designer, Richard Garriott, who was made redundant in a phone call while recovering from his first International Space Station mission, has been awarded $28 million in damages from South Korean video game publishers. NCSoft claimed he was fired in 2008 after completing Tabula Rasa MMO video game.

Garriott claimed he had to sell his 400,000 shares in NCSoft at a depressed price costing him millions of dollars. NCSoft lawyers have yet to decide if they will appeal the decision.

Garriott explained how he was still pleased with Tabula Rasa despite the game flopping miserably.

The self-styled Lord British said: "Just for the record with Tabula Rasa and other games: I have about a 50:50 hit/miss ratio with the publication of all my games."
