TIGA Wins ‘Trade Association of the Year 2010’
TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, last night scooped two awards at the annual Trade Association Forum Best Practice Awards – ‘The Member Recruitment Award’ and the top award ‘Trade Association of the Year 2010’. TIGA beat off stiff competition from well-known trade associations including the British Insurance Brokers Association, the National Farmers Union and the British Marine Federation. The awards were held at the Hotel Russell, Russell Square London and were hosted by Nick Hewer, best known as Alan Sugar’s right-hand man on The Apprentice.
TIGA was shortlisted as a finalist in five categories:
1. Sector Representation Award
2. Website of the Year Award
3. Annual Report of the Year
4. Member Recruitment Award
5. Trade Association of the Year Award
Richard Wilson TIGA CEO stated: “We are absolutely delighted by these awards and commendation. It is a huge honour to be awarded Trade Association of the Year and something we have worked very hard to achieve. I would like to thank the TIGA team: Lorna Evans, Nisha Valand, Eva Field, Vanessa Joyce and Suzi Stephenson for all their hard work and dedication. I would also like to thank our partners NESTA for their support over the last year. Above all, I would like to thank our members and the TIGA board for giving us the opportunity to represent this fantastic industry.
Jason Kingsley, TIGA Chairman and CEO and Creative Director at Rebellion, said:
“The video games industry deserves to be represented by an ambitious, determined, energetic and innovative trade association. TIGA will strive to serve the industry in general and its membership in particular even more effectively over the coming months.”
