Sonic Boom Announces the Release of video game 'Rhythm Zone'
Sonic Boom, a leading publisher of cross-platform interactive entertainment, today announced the worldwide release of Rhythm Zone℠ for the PC on Valve’s leading digital download service, Steam. Rhythm Zone reinvents the music game genre introducing never-before-seen game play dynamics; featuring algorithmically created game data using a player’s own music library plus stunning visuals linked to waveform analysis and player performance. This experience shifts the established music genre paradigm toward the gamer; allowing them to choose what they want to play.
“Now gamers can play their favorite music and go from the Beatles to Lady Gaga or from Michael Jackson to the Stones,” said David Danon, CEO of Sonic Boom. “When it’s your music, it’s so much more personal and gratifying to play. We allow anyone to "Game Your Music" and will be pushing this new evolution into Facebook and other large social communities of casual online players. Our platform and its engine allow us and our partners to use music and create gameplay on the fly versus through the current laborious studio processes.”
The “Game Your Music” trailer highlights how easy it is to use your own music and showcases Rhythm Zone’s gameplay and how visualizers vary based on your music and performance. Additional sets of visualizers will be available after launch; highlighting certain genres and featuring mesmerizing visual effects that uniquely harmonize to each song played.
“We know there are some amazing console based music games out there and we’re not trying to replicate that experience. At the same time, those games are expensive and feature a limited selection of artists and genres, thereby restricting their availability and appeal around the world,” said Josh Grant, COO of Sonic Boom. “What we’re seeing with games like Audiosurf and now Rhythm Zone is the democratization of the music game genre; allowing players to use the music they already own.”
“Gamers will no longer need to scroll through music that isn’t relevant to their liking,” touts David Danon. “Pick any song from your library and our engine will analyze it in detail enabling you to Game Your Music! If you got the song, you got the game.”
Developed by Sonic Boom, Rhythm Zone is now available on Steam for 10% off the regular price of $9.99.
