Linkin Purpz was founded in 2008 by the musician and “Age of Conan“ fan, Thorsten Schwalb. The band name can be traced back to the gamer slang expression “linking purples“: Upon finding valuable purple items, MMO players drag the items into the chat window, where a link appears for other players so that they can look at the find – this process is referred to as “linking purples“.
