First 3D video gaming summit and S3DGA meeting

Value Proposition Made Clear: "Competitive Advantages Shaped Now" Says 3D Industry. Taking place at the Hilton Los Angeles in Universal City on April 21st and 22nd, the 3D Gaming Summit™ is the first conference that is nearly 100% dedicated to stereoscopic 3D gaming. Featuring top partners including NVIDIA, Sony, The S-3D Gaming Alliance, RealD, and more, it is a critical conference for all working in this industry.

Headline speakers include Mark Rein, Co-Founder of Epic Games, Jon Landau, Producer of Avatar, Alan Price, Studio CTO for Electronic Arts Canada, Jesse Stern, Writer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and many more.

“The video game industry needs to appreciate the business opportunity that this conference represents. Game developers that partner up with content-hungry display makers will benefit from customer awareness, competitive technology, and great gaming experiences. Customers need gaming content for their new 3D HDTVs…so who will have games to sell? Stay in the loop, be prepared, go to the conference,“ said Neil Schneider, Executive Director of the non-profit S-3D Gaming Alliance (S3DGA).

S3DGA’s next meeting will be held at 5PM on April 22nd, and pre-registered S3DGA meeting attendees qualify for a 30% savings on 3D Gaming Summit registration. Confirmed S3DGA members qualify for a full 50% savings. These discounts amount to approximately $250 to $500 in savings off regular rates. Discount codes will be made available when RSVPs are confirmed. 3D Gaming Summit registration is not required for S3DGA meeting attendance.

Over the course of three years, the appeal of stereoscopic 3D entertainment has proven itself time and time again. What started as a revenue advantage for 3D theaters over 2D showings, has climaxed into Avatar, the top-grossing movie of all time. The appeal is so strong, that blockbuster films have undergone 2D to 3D conversion to remain competitive.

According to a Jim Cameron interview, 3D gaming is “at least” as important as 3D movies in the home, and Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation, has repeatedly gone on record that video games will be the driver for 3D in the home.

Every leading display maker has committed to 3D. Popular examples include Sony, Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi, and more. With the help of their retail partners, 3D in the home is inevitable.

S3DGA meeting speakers include Electronic Arts, Blitz Games Studios, Jon Peddie Research, and more. This will be a private members-only meeting due to limited space. Subject to S3DGA management approval, additional game developers and first time guests are welcome on the condition that they RSVP in advance by emailing members@s3dga.com. While the meeting will be closed to the media, interviews can also be scheduled in advance. There is no expense for meeting entry.
