DoDo Go! video game exclusive on Nintendo DSi download - Feature list and toolbox info

Alien After All, the digital entertainment designer and producer, announced today the imminent release of DodoGo!, its first game on Nintendo DSi created in co-production with Neko Entertainment. Scheduled for release on April 30th, 2010 in Europe, DodoGo! will be available exclusively for download on Nintendo DSi Shop.

The story begins in the Cretaceous period - a terrible tidal wave has swept away their island, leaving the Dodo species in serious danger: all their remaining eggs were found scattered across this isolated piece of rock in the middle of the ocean. Unfortunately the devastating wave brought a particularly hungry and sneaky predator to the island. Lost and alone, with no defence, the Dodo eggs will therefore need a big helping hand, or rather a helping stylus, to get out of this mess and to be returned to their nests. Through inhospitable environments, players must guide and save these fragile eggs, newly fallen from the nest, avoiding obstacles, pitfalls and threatening predators!

In DodoGo! all orders are issued using the stylus and the microphone to help the eggs progress throughout the course. The control system is highly intuitive, in order to appeal to as wide an audience as possible. Players do not directly control characters, but interact with them using the background environment and their stylus, which acts like a virtual multifunction Swiss Army knife! Players have a set of ten tools with which to manipulate the levels. These tools enable them to make the eggs move forward along the way: they can stop, catapult, group together, jump, turn around, climb elements and absorb falls.

Dodos’ Saviour Toolbox inventory
In DodoGo! players have ten different tools to help the dodo eggs on their journey :

* Decks. Ephemeral walls and crumbling decks can be destroyed very easily. Depending on how players use them in game they will have several characteristics. This tool will absorb an egg’s fall and prevent damage to its shell. But it could also be useful to create a temporary bridge or prevent an egg from progressing.
* Stone blocks. These blocks allow player to fill a surface in order to secure as many eggs as possible. They are subject to gravity, therefore they can heavily fall, push or crash other objects.
* Springs. These are embedded springs that can unbend when a character or an object passes over. The force of the springs can be adjusted by players.
* Spade. This enables players to alter the terrain by removing or adding ground. Thus they have the freedom to mould the ground to their needs: to pass on eggs, create a springboard, dig tunnels …
* Robo-Egg. This object shares many properties with the dodo egg, such as weight, strength, and speed. It can also become a violent bomb if player connects them to a rope as a wick. This ‘egg’ is still accessible by players in case of emergency.
* Brush. Enables players to scratch soil and blocks, setting off several reactions. Scratching the ground will cause a thick cloud of dust to be created; scraped over stone will make a spark appear, and on wood this will be a flame. This tool enables players to set a trap for an opponent or a predator.
* Saw. Player can draw lines to cut or saw some decorative elements, such as ropes or wooden floors.
* Axles. These can be used as a pulley or an anchor in order to suspend a block. Only ropes can be connected to this tool.
* Switches. Elements that connect to soil and wood surfaces. Alone they are useless, but once connected to another mechanism they become the controller. When they are engaged, board crumbles, stone blocks fall, springs unbend … When they are combined with other elements, new gameplay objects can be created, such as doors, or traps to help eggs or detract opponents.
* Fans. These create air currents or water currents when they are underwater. Players can adjust them or can put them where they want in order to shelter eggs.
* Players must be careful throughout their adventures, because some items found on the way will prove unexpectedly helpful: a coconut will protect eggs against shock; a bush can hide an egg from the different predators, and so on.
* DodoGo! is a game of action and strategic thinking in which players must be imaginative and cunning to rescue a maximum of lost eggs. DodoGo! offers an entertaining experience taking place on nearly 100 levels covering Domo Island, where players will need to explore every area, going up and down, day and night, to save the eggs.
