‘Farm Frenzy’ by HeroCraft and Alawar Entertainment has been nominated for the coveted title of ‘Best Game’ at the GSMA awards, due to be held during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February in a ceremony hosted by British actor and stalwart of technology Stephen Fry.
“We’re thrilled that Farm Frenzy has been recognised in this way,” remarked Alexey Sazonov, Sales and Marketing Director at HeroCraft. “The Farm Frenzy series racked up 1.5 million sales world-wide since its launch in 2007 and paved the way for the raft of farm sim games popular on social networks today. Farm Frenzy is a joy to play on touchscreen enabled devices and it’s pleasing to see the awards organisers rewarding innovation and original IP.”
Kirill Plotnikov, VP of Publishing from Alawar Entertainment, the original publisher and IP owner of Farm Frenzy, added: “Farm Frenzy is one of the head brands of our company which proves excellent sales worldwide. The success of mobile Farm Frenzy at GSMA 2010 proves not just the game's qualities but also the great job that HeroCraft did in bringing the game to Java and Android devices and we’re proud of the renewed interest in Farm Frenzy from this new audience.”
“Our congratulations to all nominees for the Global Mobile Awards 2010,” said Rob Conway, CEO and Member of the Board of the GSMA. “Competition for these awards is fierce, with more than 500 entries - including many of an exceptional standard - and a highly discerning independent judging panel to impress; to be shortlisted is quite an achievement. We look forward to the unveiling of the winners at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.”
The winner will be announced on Tuesday 16th February.
