To answer the first question you need to go back to the original Call of Duty game, which first appeared on the PC in 2003. It was a gritty take on the second-world-war first-person shooter (FPS), a style of game in which you run and fire weapons directly from the soldier’s point of view. It was followed by Call of Duty 2 in 2005, which became a surprise hit for Microsoft’s Xbox 360.
